New from Make Up For Ever: Artist Rouge Lipsticks

Hi Bellas,

Who doesn't love new lip colors. Anytime I get new colors to try, I feel like it's a brand new outfit, a brand new look.  Now that we're transitioning out of summer, I really want to switch up my lip game from all the nude pinks into some bold fun colors.  Make Up For Ever's new line of Artist Roue lipsticks are literally to die for.  If you're a lipstick junkie, please check this out.

This is what the company claims:

ARTIST ROUGE LIPSTICK features an innovative high-precision bullet that guarantees easy application and targeted bold, vivid coverage. Discover the show-stopping color, spectacular long-wear and outstanding comfort.

Our high-pigment formula with beautiful glide and single stroke coverage was developed for the stage so you can transform yourself and reveal your artist within.

My Thoughts:
First off, gorgeous packaging...The tubes feelsheavy and industrial, like a Makeup Artist's lipstick. I like the logo etching on the silver band on the tube. It is hard to tell what shade it is by looking at the label. I would depot it, but I love the bullet shape of the lipstick in the tube because it does make it really easy to apply the lipstick precisely.

It was love at first swatch.  The colors are indeed incredibly pigmented and go on opaquely with one swatch.  The 6 shades that were sent to me are such an interesting mix of colors - a mix of wearable and bold.

C506 Dark Purple - Cream texture, but I'd describe it more as a violet purple.

C502 Taupe Violet - Cream texture, cool toned, grayish lilac shade

C603 Midnight Blue- Cream texture, more of a wet sheen. It's a dark greenish blue shade. I would rock this matte by applying a setting powder on top.

C105 Grege Beige - Cream texture, cool toned nude pink. I don't really think it's beige.

C211 Rose Wood - Cream texture, Mauvey pink

M401 Limited Edition Hot Red - True Red.

I rocked shade M401 for a blogger event and dinner.  I will say, this shade went on beautifully.  It didn't tug or pull at my lips, it just glided on despite being matte.  If you look closely, it's not the mattest finish I've ever seen but there's definitely no shine.  It didn't feel uncomfortable and it didn't crack. It had a very opaque texture. It claims to have 10 hour wear and I believe it.  If you're looking for a comfortable matte that goes on opaque and creamy, this is for you.

In sum, these lipsticks are awesome.  They really are of amazing quality and the shade range is diverse and plenty.  You can find them retailing at Make Up Forever or Sephora for $22 and they're totally worth it.
