Makeup Lesson: Chicago Stepper Makeover

Hi Bellas,

Happy Wednesday!  One of my favorite parts about being a Makeup Artist is passing on makeup education to my clients.  Today I'm going to share some tips I passed on to my client.  Check it out!

I had a client come to Industry Makeup Academy and she wanted a quick lesson on how to apply makeup so she could get herself ready for her Chicago Stepping Performances.  I'm a firm believer that every woman should learn how to doll herself up for special occasions.  Here are some of the tips I passed onto her!

1) Mix your foundation for moisturizer to have sheerer coverage during the day then use it in it's regular state for special occasions/evening.

2) Use an orange based corrector to quickly add brightness to your look.  I used the new IT Cosmetics Illuminating Concealer in Deep.  It has a peachy tone to neutralize darkness as well as light reflecting properties to bring light to the area.

3) It's Fall, Vampy lips are in!  Make sure to line your lips with a liner first to ensure a clean line, then fill in your lips with the lipstick.  If you choose deep lips, make sure your eyes are a little more neutral to give balance to your makeup look.

4) For a light brow fill in, use brown eyeshadow to help fill in sparse areas without overpowering a natural brow look.

It's amazing how much you can advance your makeup skills once someone shows you how to apply certain colors on certain areas.  I told my client to play with the introductory skills she learned and to come back and book a more advanced class afterwards.

I teach makeup lessons at Industry Makeup Academy for just $65 for 1 hour and $30 for each additional half hour.  You can sign up here.
