Hi Bellas,

I'm back with another look from my Caress Girls Night Out Event.  I love doing makeup on my best friend Alex...she's always willing to try something new and she's definitely not afraid of color or lashes!  She was wearing all black so I could pull out pretty much any color combo with her.  In the end, we decided to go for sultry purples...I love the way the color looks on her skin tone.  I think i'm definitely going to try and recreate this look because the color combination was gorgeous!

Hi Bellas,

I'm back with another Celebrity Inspired tutorial.  Today's look was inspired by Kendra, the E Television reality star.  I received some new grayish blush contacts to test out and thought that Kendra's look would work great with them.  This is actually a really wearable look for a night out.  It's a neutral smokey eye that actually works with a lot of skin tones.  It's great for a date night or girls night out.

Hi Bellas,

I'm glad I finally got this video up.  My girls Joy and Leslie from the Beauty Clique (our little makeup group) shot this video Valentine's Day weekend.  I often go to brunch to swap makeup stories with my girls, but it's the first time we all go together to do a gig.  It was a lot of fun...we bonded, did makeup, and talked about the upcoming LA IMATS the entire time, lol.

Hi Bellas,

One day I was browsing the comments on a video and a viewer said "Ren, I miss your super bright looks...that's why I subscribed!"  That got me thinking...I have been doing a lot more neutral looks.  I guess I figure that that's what people want to see so that they can actually replicate it in real life.  In the beginning, I only did bright, smokey looks because that's what I liked on me.  I kind of miss that.  As a result, I wanted to bring it back to old school Ren with a super bright blue look.  I used a lot of matte shadows which I also love love love.

Check out my video tutorial!

The final look!

Hi Bellas!

Back with another look. My other bestie also went to a wedding the same weekend as Melissa. She wanted to incorporate copper and navy blue. I had to think about this combo to make it appropriate for a daytime wedding.

In the end, I decided to go with a gold and copper on the lid and a little on the outer v. I also incorporated the navy blue as her eyeliner on the top and bottom. If you want to add a splash of color, try colored liner! Or you can do what I did...apply whatever color shadow you want to use with a liner brush on top of a black liner!

Hi Bellas!

I wanted to change things up and go back to what I love...super fun bright looks! I'm featuring some products from Face Front Cosmetics...a brand that specializes in super vibrant, pigmented colors.

My Face Front Products are actually from www.ffcloset.com. You can get discontinued and overstocked Face Front products from this site at a discount! If you're interested in trying this brand, why not try it out and save a few bucks at the same time.
***Update: I also just heard news that Face Front's Closet will soon be called Lucy Lauren Concepts. The switch over will be on July 27th. Lucy Lauren Concepts will sell Face Front Cosmetics as usual, and also a new Lucy Lauren Cosmetics Line.

In the video, I also test out my new sigma makeup brushes for the first time. So far so good! I'm going to continue to use them over the next week or two and will then give you all a detailed review. Check them out at http://www.sigmabrushes.com

Check out the video tutorial! The look is an electric blue/green look. I show you how to mix primary shadows to achieve different colors. I also show you a really cool way of making a custom lipgloss. Sorry the lighting gets weird in some shots...I'm trying to save up for and HD camcorder but that might have to wait till Christmas!

Here's What I Used:

EYES
-Steelo Cosmetics medium eyeshadow base
-Face Front Swiss Franc e/s
-Face Front It's Kosher, Man e/s
-Face Front Nifty 'N Neon e/s
-Yaby Cosmetics highlight/champagne e/s
-Yaby Cosmetics brown e/s to fill in brows
-Eve Pearl Black Pearl liquid liner
-MAC Feline kohl power pencil
-Shisem lashes
-Anastasia Mascara

FACE
-MAC Mineralized Satinfinish foundation in NC42
-MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in Medium Dark
-MAC Mineralized blush in Daft Pink
-Graftobian Medium Cocoa eyeshadow as contour color

LIPS
-NYX opal lipstick
-Facefront lip conditioner

Onto the product photos!

Swiss Franc is called a "Lite Finish" eyeshadow. I noticed that it applies more frosty. It takes a little bit of work to blend out so I would suggest putting down a base shadow first to help blend. This shimmery white color really goes well with any look.

Nifty 'N Neon looks super bright on the pan, but like many yellow shadows, it doesn't show up as well on my skin. I have the same problem with MAC's Chrome Yellow. To get it to show up, I applied a white eyeshadow base and packed on the color using a flat shader brush like the MAC 239. To save myself some work, I used it instead as a sheer wash of color on my crease. Later, I blending blue on top to turn it green. I liked how it turned out, like art class!

It's Kosher, Man is my favorite of the three eyeshadows. It is indeed as bright as it looks. This shadow as well as Nifty 'N Neon are actually matte with reflective glitter. I was happy that this shadow did not stain my lid like another super pigmented eyeshadow I have (MUFE No. 92). After blending, make sure to repack on the color to get the same vibrancy.

These shadows look like you can depot them the same way as MAC. I plan on doing this myself...if I get any free time that is!

Here are the swatches. The shadows are applied dry without base. You can see how the yellow blends into my skin...you definitely need a base for this one. You can see the glitter more so in It's Kosher, Man. Be aware of glitter fall out. For this reason, I applied my foundation last.

Onto the pics!

I loved the way the lips came out. I first applied Face Front lip conditioner...a non-sticky minty gloss. Then on top, I applied NYX's opal lipstick...it's a sheer irridescent color that reflects pink/purple. I ended up with a beautiful irridescent lip shade.

Stay tuned for another huge contest! I plan on giving away one full size Face Front Voom Voom Vault Pigment, one full size Face Front Ultimate Lip Conditioner as well as a full set of Sigma Makeup Brushes, and more!

Till next time, Ciao Bellas!

Hi Bellas!

Thank you to everyone for sending me birthday wishes last week. It made me feel so special! Last Wednesday was my birthday and it was a few days of celebration. Of course with this being a beauty blog, I had to share my makeup looks along the way.

Wednesday, June 24th was my actual birthday. The boyfriend and I did a quick gym workout and headed to Chilis so I could get some healthy food off of their Guiltless Grill menu. Trying to be good! We then met up with the crew and saw a 10:00pm showing of Transformers. Wow that movie felt long. It was okay, the last 20 minutes were the best. That night I wore an aque look inspired by Makeup By Tiffany D's last Summer Makeup tutorial. I did a quickie version since I only had about 5 minutes to do my makeup.

That day I also had a chance to open up some presents from the boyfriend. He awoke me with flowers and wrapped presents on our coffee table. However, when I wake up from work I'm in and out with only a few minutes to spare. I opened them when I got home. Please ignore me looking crazy...I was trying out different eyeshadow colors on each eye, lol.

Here I am blowing out the candles on my tiny ice cream cake. I told my BF how growing up my mom used to always get me Carvel Ice Cream cakes, my fav! He got a mini version so that we could still celebrate with just a little piece while being on a diet. If he had gotten a regular size cake we would have been in trouble!

Yay! My immediate reaction at the gifts :) By the way, I'm rocking a dress I bought in the Philippines.

He also got me a rose for every birthday we've celebrated together. Red for love and a pink in the middle for love and friendship. I wanted my boyfriend to keep gifts more low key this year because we've spent too much on each other in the past.

I finally got a GPS! If you know me, I'm the worst with directions...like seriously the worst out of anyone I know, lol.

Yay the Twilight book series! I know I'm a bit behind on this trend but about two weeks ago I NetFlixed Twilight and after watching it I fell in love! I already read two entire books in 3 days...and that was me trying to read slow! It's really addictive...I just love the romance :)

Thursday night my friends took me to a birthday dinner at a surprise location. I was so happy because they took me to a swanky South African Spot! I've been looking around Atlanta to find some tasty African cuisine but the closest I could ever find was Ethiopian. It was super nice inside with a live band and everything. If you're in Atlanta, it's called 10 Degrees South. I ordered a yummy Chicken Curry dish...everyone loved their food.

My friends got a card made just for me! They had the card maker sketch a picture of me using one of my pics on my blog...I think she used my Rihanna Makeup tutorial! Inside they had the card written comparing our friendship to the blending of makeup...it was so cute and thoughtful.

This year they surprised me. Instead of cake, they had cupcakes! Again, better for my diet so we don't go overboard...at least I thought lol. Each cake had different fillings from fudge, to custard, to vanilla...it was so yummy!

We tore those bad boys up!

Here's a look I wore for the night. I used the Double Stack Palettes to create this bright blue look along with my Eve Pearl liquid liner and Red Cherry lashes.

Besides that I'm wearing Mineralized Satinfinish foundation in NC42. I've fallen in love with this foundation all over again...it gives such a nice, dewy glow. I'm also wearing MAC refined golden bronzer on my cheeks and Bare Bronze lipstick with Liberated Lipgloss. These are quickly becoming staples in my summer makeup collection.

Friday night was my best friend's fiance's bday. We went midtown to celebrate. First we ate Tapas and then headed to a Wet Willies style bar. LOL, I didn't take pictures of that night because it was not cute. We ended up leaving early because the birthday boy had a little too much that night. Ah well, it was still fun lol. Too bad I have to get my car cleaned now if you catch my drift, lol.

Saturday was just for me and the boyfriend. Again, I wanted to keep it really low key. We're going to Savannah this weekend so no need to go crazy with it. We ended up going to the Discover Mills Outlet mall a half hour away.

We splurged on the diet and had Johnny Rockets :) Here we are sharing a root beer float. We also were extremely corny and took pictures in a photo booth. While at the mall I stopped by the CCO and actually didn't get anything. Instead I ended up getting a cute flower claw clip and two nail polishes for all of $7...see I'm a cheap date! We picked up a new pair of jeans for the boyfriend...I'm trying to get him to transition into more fitted styles. I also bought 8 pairs of shoes from the Nine West Outlet...nope, not all for me. They're for myself and the rest of the bridesmaids for my best friend's wedding in October. Can't Wait!

Of course, a shot of makeup. I went really simple with this one. I'm just wearing black eyeliner smudged with a dark blue shadow from the Double Stack Palette. I'm also rocking Stila lipglaze in vanilla and Blonde MSF on my cheeks.

That's all for now folks! Thanks for reading and celebrating with me :)

Hi Bellas,

Happy Friday! It's going to be a busy weekend for me. Tonight I have a gig doing airbrush tattoos at a middle school dance, he he. My airbrush teacher referred me for the gig and I haven't touched my airbrush tattoos in a while...since I mainly use my airbrush stuff for foundation. So I'm happy to make some quick cash and not let my paints go to waste. Saturday I'm getting my hair done, woo hoo! Sunday I have an all day makeup gig doing morning and evening looks for an Indian Wedding. It's also my last weekend before going to the Philippines so I'm trying to pay bills, pack, and do all the nessasary stuff I need to do before I leave.

Anywho, back to the post!

This last weekend was so much fun. My boyfriend's college buddy came into town with his girlfriend and we went out all weekend. It's good to get out there and enjoy the Atlanta nightlife because sometimes I feel old and tired and need to get on my dancing shoes! (See I sounded old again right? lol)

Sunday night we planned on hitting up an upscale club in Atlanta. My boyfriend's friend's girl actually does some modeling here and there and I offered to give her a makeover. She told me she loves blues so I went with it!

She already had a great brow shape so I lightly filled the brows in with cork eyeshadow from MAC. She told me how she loved that because usually people fill in her brows too darkly. I find filling in your brows with a shade lighter than your hair color looks a lot less harsh and opens up your eye shape even more.

She loved the sultry blue eyes and nude lip combo. Take a look!
