Angel's Wedding Day

Hi Bellas,

I'm back with another wedding post. I find that my clientele these days consists of a lot of brides. It's not only profitable, but honestly I just love weddings. I love being in that atmosphere and feeling like I have a backstage past to the bride's day. Today I'll show you pictures from a wedding I worked on a few weeks ago. We went for a subtle purple smokey eye and it turned out fabulous.

When it comes to wedding gigs, sometimes I have to get up super early to make sure the bride is ready in time.  Mind you, I'm not an early morning person, but you gotta do what you gotta do.  I always make sure to put on some makeup so that I look neat and professional.  When I don't have a lot of time to be messing with eyeshadows and a lot of products, I go for a quick pin-up look.

Here I'm wearing liner, lashes, my base, and red lipstick.  I like the L'Oreal Infallible lip color in beyonce.  It really does last all day.  Just make sure to exfoliate before hand or you might experience some flaking.

Before shot of the bride...
After...I didn't get a chance to get a quick close-up picture but you can still see the makeup.  For this look, we added a little bit more purple than we did for the trial to make sure she had a pop of color.
I love when I get a shot with my brides...she looked absolutely beautiful.
I also used my temptu dura airbrush makeup to cover up 3 tattoos on the bride and one on the bridesmaid to the right...that stuff comes in handy.  It's alcohol based, does not transfer onto clothes, and can last several days into the honeymoon.
Getting ready shots.
Here's a shot of my traincase.  I was excited because I had a whole empty table to work on.  The more surface area to work on, the better!
I also did the mom's makeup.  Sometimes it's challenging to work on mothers of the bride because they're not used to seeing themselves made up.  The key is to go for something age appropriate, make sure to really listen to what they want, and combine it with your expert opinion on what you know will look great on the client.

For the mom, I worked on evening out her skin tone, defining her brows, and making her look fresh and polished.  A lot of my mommy clients seem to love the darker berry lip so I always make sure to pack it in my kit.  For the eyes, even though she didn't think she needed it, I added some very subtle lashes which makes really helps to lift the eyes and enhance them.  For the shadow, I went for something subtle...satin taupe and some browns.

That's all for now!  I hope you all enjoy my wedding posts.  I try to stick in tips for those of us who do bridal work and also for those of us who might want to do makeup for our own weddings, or help out a friend.  If you have any bridal makeup trips of your own, please feel free to leave them in the comments below.

I have more pictures from other weddings coming up, stay tuned!
