L'Oreal Ever Pure Sulfate-Free Color System

Hi Bellas,

The world of blogging has definitely introduced me to new beauty concepts and techniques -- one of which is sulfate free, organic hair products.

I've always wanted to jump on the band wagon since I know they're better for you...especially with shampoos and conditioners. Most shampoos contain sulfates which strips away the color and moisture making your hair worse off in the long run. A viewer of mine who works for a salon stated that it was like putting floor wax in your hair...not good! The hard part was that it was a lot easier for me to buy products that contained these bad ingredients since the former was not as widely available.

On top of everything, my hair has been colored for the last 8 years, which makes me paranoid about getting the right amount of moisture in my hair. Otherwise, it can feel like straw.

Seems like the concept of sulfate free products is finally catching on. L'Oreal just released this new line of hair products- The Ever Pure line. I was excited because right on the packaging you see that it's sulfate free! I've tried other sulfate free shampoos in the Giovanni's Triple Tree was hard for me to get used too because it lacked the suds action I'm accustomed to. L'Oreal's shampoo suprisingly had a lot of lather action. The smell of these products is very herbal and minty...very refreshing. The conditioner seemed to do it's job, but every other shampoo I still like to use a deep mask conditioner to give me the extra moisture I crave.

For $7 a bottle, this is definitely worth trying out.

Till next time, Ciao Bellas!

I have had colored hair for about 10 years and I have the same issues as you. Maybe I will try this stuff.

I've never colored or chemically treated my hair so my hair is in pretty good condition. I still want to keep it as healthy as possible though so I've started using sulfate-free and organic hair products (thanks to Girl with Curl). I need to try this Ever Pure line now!

I've been sooo curious about this one. Thanks for trying it out!

I've had a relaxer for 29 years. (YIKES! Until I look at the numbers I forget I'm old!) And have been color-treating for about 10.

I was looking at this product too to see if I should add it to my list but, found that it still had the sulfate Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate. It may not be as harsh as Sodium lauryl sulfate which is why L'oreal calls it a sulfate free shampoo. A lot of the die hard fans of sulfate free shampoos won't go near any sulfate. Some prefer just mild cleansers or washing with conditioner.

Hope you do a follow up review to see how it works!

Organic is definitely the way to go. I just tried some organic shampoo and although I don't really see dramatic results, I know it will benefit my hair and scalp in the long-term. Thanks for sharing this post!

I know what you mean Ren, about those bb creams not being for darker gals, it's totally a Korean thing =/

and plus they love skin whitening products, so it makes us all even whiter, even ME. lol

If I ever run across a sexy dark combo bb, I'll let you know tho for sure!
