Makeup Fail!

Hi Bellas,

Did you ever have the horrible feeling when your heart drops because you drop a makeup item and it crashes to the floor in a million pieces?  Well I did recently lol...and I'm going to show you the horrible outcome!
Recently I picked up the Wet N Wild Mineralized Color Icon Shadows in Baked Not Fried.

Here's what it's supposed to look like:
Unfortunately I didn't realize that the lid is not hinged.  It's completely removeable so when I lifted from the edge the whole thing flew off and my brand new palette crashed to my bathroom ground.
It's funny because I screamed and my BF ran in the bathroom to check out this "emergency".  It's all good, the palette was only a few bucks and it's still kinda useable.  I was a bit disappointed to see though that the pans are actually curved up so you really only get a little bit of eyeshadow.

The colors are nice...pigmented and metallic.  I would recommend combining them with matte shades to balance out a look.  I don't reach for this too often because I don't want to make a mess though.

Has this ever happened to you?  Makeup Junky problems right?  LOL Let me know in the comments below, I'd love to hear your stories!

God I HATE when that happens!! Ugh! knock on wood that's never happen to any of my expensive makeup, just usually my rimmel or WnW palettes. Or my NYX blushes, if you can't tell I drop a lot of things haha!

Hey could you vote for me to be the next Rimmel 10? I'm Megan M. All the infos on my blog!

Gaaaahhh! That happened to me twice in a 2 week period. My I heart matte palette fell and 2 shadows on the neutral side broke and then my Laura Geller blush bit the dust. I nearly cried!!

Yes, this has happened to me many times…hate it. The worse was one of my products I dropped happened while I was doing a wedding gig. Just finished with the bride and was starting to pack up my stuff. But what do you know, my bronzer decides it wants to fall, and it shattered everywhere. Sad part is 1) I didn’t want the bride to see thinking I was clumsy….2) I was afraid it get on her carpet and stain so I was slowly picking on the pieces scooping with my business card…ughh it was a hot mess. Anndd the bronzer was huge, it was the big palette from Pop of Beauty that has the duo bronzer shades. Total fail!!
Btw –RenRen….I just picked up some Wet n Wild products last night thanks to your drugstore haul. :) It’s my first time trying these since middle school (15+ yrs ago haha)…I’ve heard they improved a lot, so I’m excited to try them out.

OMG I hate when that happens! I'm also kinda hating how the pans are curved in those palettes. I totally didn't know that! But then again, how would I? At least I don't use them often.

Aww that sucks. I was gutted when I broke my Accessorize pretty pink blusher, especially as it was when I was camping. I didn't have anything to put it in so I had to throw it away, and it's discontinued!

I have not have this happen, but I do notice that WnW shadow is fragile. One thing that I like about this post is I get to see the quantity of the product. Hmm so little! I love WnW, but cheating us with packaging is not cool!! Hee hee

I was rushing to get ready and dropped my BRAND NEW custom 15 palette of MAC eyeshadows...SMH. When i say brand new I just brought it the day before,I hadn't even tested everything. Only one survived,it hurts my heart till this day and I haven't bought a large palette since, that was 2 years ago!!! I think i even teared up a little. Now i have to get over that because I'm stating to freelance. The worse part was the colors somehow stained the grout in my bathroom tile and it didn't matter how much scrubbing or bleach I used it never came completely clean. Daily reminder ughhhhh!!!

This literally just happened to me not even an hour ago. I went to pick up my new Lorac blush and the thing fell behind my dresser! I screamed so loud I just knew it was a lost cause. It's also a baked product so I was really nervous. I was able to pull it out from behind my dresser and it was still in one piece. The sigh of relief was just...lol indescribable. LOL!

I've done it a couple of times - never a good feeling. Actually one of those was also a WnW palette - the Blue Had Me at Hello palette, and I dropped it the DAY that i bought it! Lost a half of of that white highlight pan - it's ok still totally usable - it just chaps the hiney a little. I did it a few years ago with a Too Faced Beauty to Go palette. Turned the open palette over to see if the shade names were on the back and the blush just dropped out and shattered on the floor. Don't feel that was my fault though - I didn't drop it - I think the product was not secure in the pan. Thanks for sharing! Peace!

I haven't had a terrible accident like this yet BUT I have accidentally washed a MAC eyeshadow in the washer. Thank god it wasn't a color that I was crazy about. It did chip a little but it still works lol.

I have done this a few times myself. I just read to try this .. (from RealSimple.com)
"Add a few drops of rubbing alcohol to the compact and use a butter knife to smooth the powder back into shape, says Fuhrmann. Let dry before using. If the damage can't be repaired, you can crush the cosmetic completely, transfer it to a small resealable bag or jar, and use it as loose powder."
