Gorgeous Glowing Skin - Gleam By Melanie Mills Review

Hi Bellas,

I'm back with another review.  Gleam by Melanie Mills is a new product that has recently hit the market.  I remember some of my subbies coming up to me at the New York Makeup Show and raving about it.  The company contacted me at one point and I hadn't really followed up, but after hearing word of mouth recommendations I was really interested in trying out these tinted, shimmery body creams.  I mean, if they use it on all the celebrities on Dancing With The Stars, it must be good stuff.

Gleam Body Radiance is a tinted body shimmer lotion that comes in four tones - light gold, rose gold, bronze gold and deep gold.
From the swatches you can see that they have a color for every complexion.  I was really happy to see that they encompassed all skin tones.  I have some lighter body shimmers that I use for brides but sometimes they don't show up on darker skin tones.
Here's a swatch of the product without it being blended out.  The colors are really gorgeous and as you see, a little bit goes a long way.
Here's what it looks like when it's blended out.  For me, I would go for rose gold for a subtle shimmer, but bronze gold for a sexy, golden straight from the tropics glow.
Check out the before and after on my legs.  This stuff looks amazing on.  It looks like I used my self-tanning lotion without having to deal with the mess, streaks, and nasty smell.  It blends in really well and dries surprisingly quickly.  The product is supposed to be transfer resistant and long-wearing.  That makes sense since the dancers on Dancing With The Stars wear it.  No wonder they always look so nice and glowy.  I had this on my legs and arms all day and it wasn't completely waterproof but it definitely was budge proof.
I received some samples in a squeezy tube container.  The actual container is larger in a black, 3.5oz tube.

Here is a break-down of the color descriptions.  You can really tell a lot of thought went into developping the product.

Color Overview (From the Website)

LIGHT GOLD is an ethereal ray, the lightest formulation of GLEAM with a pale yellow base that counteracts ruddy and reddish skin undertones. Pure creamy velvet finish for the light to medium skin-tones. Camouflages
stretch marks, scars and other imperfections and imparts a subtle dewy glow.

ROSE GOLD - Melanie Mills’ signature color and her personal favorite. This shade is the original color and was created first by Melanie for the “Golden Glow” that all Dancing with the Stars celebrities and pro dancers are finished with for the camera. Melanie wanted this creamy potion to emulate real Rose Gold and be liquid metal for the skin.

BRONZE GOLD - This shade is pure bronze, like a statue and has a wonderful yellow-orange undertone that also acts like liquid metal. BRONZE GOLD is the third deepest shade, perfect for medium to deep skin tones.

DEEP GOLD - Pure luminous, chocolate soufflé, with red velvet undertones that never look ashy on the skin. Beautiful and rich, this deep liquid metal shade is a game changer and delivers the “Glow” for the most melanin-rich skins who want to hide pigment patches, scars, stretch marks, dark knees and elbows.

GLEAM Body Radiance is to be used on dry, clean skin with no other skincare lotions or products for maximum transfer-resistant efficacy. The regular tube is 3.5 oz., 6" x 2.25" x 1.25"

***

I would totally rock this on those summer nights when you want that sexy, tan glow.  Can you say trip to Miami with the girls?  To get something similar, but minus the gorgeous shimmer, I used to have to prep myself 24 hours before hand with self-tanner but this is actually an easier alternative when I don't want to go through all of that.  It's definitely the nicest body shimmer lotion I've ever tried!  The product retails for $40 per tube online, a little expensive.  I probably would only purchase this out for a special occasions such as a formal event or bride, but if you're willing to splurge a little, the product is worth it.
