NYX Cosmetics New Products!

Hi Bellas,

NYX Cosmetics recently came out with some amazing new products and I had a chance to try them out.  This brand is truly stepping up its game.  They have a truly comprehensive line where you can find literally everything you need.  It's great for everyday makeup wearers and even makeup artists.

Fly With Me Mascara $13
This new mascara has a really cool wand.  The tip has a spherical shape.  I find that this makes getting into your lashes a lot easier and really helps to build length.  I highly enjoyed using it.  The product info states that it will intensify lashes 100X.  I found the formula was decent, but not anything extraordinary.  Overall, I think this is a great everyday mascara.

Luscious Lip Gloss Palette in Champagne Sparkle $8.00
I'm all for anything in palettes.  I was interested because these are actually glosses.  I was happy to see that the colors are all super pigmented.  The gloss texture is thick but still spreads well.  My problem is that the colors all came out super frosty!  My lips looked super ashy.  The only color I could pull off would be the red, which looks like a hot pink on the lips.  I'm interested to see how the other palettes like "The Nudes-Matte" and "Red Discovered" look.  I think they could be winners.

Soft Matte Lip Creams $6
OMG I'm in love with this product!  It reminds me of OCC lip tars, but they're a lot easier to use.  They apply like a gloss but look like a soft liquid lipstick.  The formula is a soft matte and it actually doesn't dry out the lips.  I think this is a great alternative to lipstick.  It goes on a lot cremier than any matte lipstick I own.  Both colors are absolutely lovely.  I love the peach color as the perfect spring nude. The red is soft and romantic.  For staying power, they last for a decent time.  Just make sure to exfoliate beforehand or else you'll see all the dry flakes with this matte formula.
Left to Right:  Stockholm and Monte Carlo.

Photoloving Primer $17
I've tried a lot of primers in my day, both high and low end.  I was interested to see how these worked out.  I received both the clear and the purple (good for brightening dull complexions).  First off, I like the small squeezy tube applicator.  It fits in my kit easily and you can get all the product out easily.  I was happy to see that the consistency is really nice.  It has enough thickness to it so that it's no super slippery - I don't like when primers have that super slick feel to them.  These apply smoothly and made my skin feel and look like I have minimized pores and lines. My makeup also applied better.  I have dry skin and noticed that my makeup did last longer, but I did get oily at the end of the day.  Oily complexions may have to test it out to see if it stands up to shine.

Casting Call Eyeshadow Palette from the Runway Collection $9.75
I have a couple of these 10 pan palettes now.  This one is no different from the others in that it has beautiful colors, they are pigmented and apply smoothly to the skin.  Once again though, I did notice that they have a slight issue with staying power.  I would recommend wearing a good base underneath.

You can find these products at Ulta and your local drugstore or online at NYX Cosmetics.  I have another review coming up featuring items from NYX's HD Studio Photogenic Collection that premiered in January.  Stay tuned!
