Confidential Brushes Review/Giveaway

Hi Bellas,

I'm back with another Friday giveaway.  My friend Elle at Confidential Brushes recently sent me some items to review and giveaway.  This time around, I'll be reviewing the All About Eyes promotion and I'll stick in an extra giveaway too :)

All About Eyes Set $45
Confidential Brushes is currently allowing customers to pick their six favorites eye brushes.   I will say that a long time ago, the company sent me some of their individual brushes when I tested out one of their brush sets.  OMG, it was love.  They are so high quality and very affordable.  Very comparable to Sigma and so many MAC dupes in there.  I actually like the individual brushes better than the brush sets, the quality is outstanding.  This time, you can choose your five favorites ones and they'll be sent to you in a super cute, hand made brush pouch.  This is great for travel and for the "diva on the go".  The brushes retail individually for $8 but the value is way better when you buy them in this set.  This is great because you get to choose your own brushes but you get a package deal.

In this kit, I have the blender brush (dupe for mac 217), pencil brush (dupe for mac 219), smudger brush (dupe for mac 208), concealer brush (dupe for mac 194), angled liner brush (dupe for mac 266) and their own original large shader/blender brush which is totally unique and amazing.  The quality is great and you have little shedding and bleeding with washing.  I've used my Confidential Brushes on clients and I've gotten great feedback...clients love how soft they feel on the skin.  You can pick your own brushes which is great because we all have our preferences.  At $45, you'll get 6 really great brushes and a hand-crafted brush pouch.  I will say that I use the individual brushes on myself all the time.

My Review of the 17 Piece Confidential Brushes Synthetic Brush Set $50
I also wanted to mention that I've been using the Confidential Synthetic Brushes set for a few weeks now.  I picked it up at IMATS but haven't had time to test it out until mid July.  I'm really loving it for using with my cream, liquid and gel products.  My latest love is using synthetic powder brushes to apply and blend cream/liquid foundation.  This is the technique that celebrity makeup artist AJ Crimson uses.  The finish is amazing!  If you've ever used Sephora's "Airbrush" foundation brush, it's a similar concept.  The synthetic bristles don't absorb as much product, but the tapered bristles really do a great job at blending.  The brushes are also great for more fun, theatrical looks.  With Halloween coming up, I'll be doing a lot of looks using paints and cream colors.  The synthetic eyeshadow/liner brushes are perfect for that kind of application.  This makes a great complementary set to your current brush collection.

Cons
My only con is that the actual brush roll smelt super rubbery when I first got it.  At first I thought it was the bristles but after a few washes and no smell, I realized it was the brush roll.  This is probably because it was packaged right after it was made and the smell stayed with the product.  After having it out and about the smell dissipated so it wasn't a big deal.  The only other thing to consider with synthetic brushes is that they do take longer to dry after washing.

Would I recommend?  Yes!  Believe me, I have a whole lot of brushes...but not as many synthetic ones.  I've been using these a lot and they work really well.
