Hi Bellas,

A few weekends ago I did a makeover for one of my YouTube subscribers. She contacted me because she wanted to get made up for a fundraiser her kids' school was having at our aquarium. As a mom with a new baby, she hardly has time to get dolled up and get out with the hubby. She already told me she loved smokey eyes. We wanted to do something that would give her a smokey look but not overpower her features.

She also wanted help on evening out her skin tone. Pregnancy throws everything off in terms of hormones and our skin and body react differently. Many women experience breakouts when they're pregnant - I have a feeling that's going to be me one day with my history of acne in the past! I focused on evening out her skin tone...eliminating redness and covering up scarring.

Here's a shot of her eyes closed. As you can see I brought the eyemakeup just to the crease. She told me she disliked when makeup artists try to fake a crease and it looks too obvious. This smokey eye technique is perfect for monolids.

Hi Bellas!

Happy St. Patty's Day! I forgot to wear green...dangit! I actually did look in my closet last night but I wore my green work shirt last week, sigh. Anyways, I wanted to post my recent you tube vid...the Lauren Conrad braided hair tutorial. This is a two part series. After much persuasion, I convinced my best friend Saiesha to do the tutorial with me. Ever since Laguna Beach, she's been all over these kind of shows...the Hills, the City, etc. She also does hair a lot better than me, lol.

Jennifer Aniston also recently rocked this look to the Oscars:


You pretty much need very basic tools that should be lying around the house: rat tail comb, boar bristle brush, bobby pins, hair spray, smoothing cream, flower accessory-optional.

Whew talk about most tiring weekend ever! LOL I had my three day makeup gig for an Arabic wedding along with a whole bunch of sorority stuff. Poor BF was neglected this weekend :(

I took a pic of the makeup I wore to do makeup on Friday. I figured since it was an Arabic wedding, I could go dramatic with the makeup, yay!

I was so exhausted this weekend but my boyfriend surprised me when I got home.
He updated my youtube home page and made it all pretty! I like how he created links on the top to my blog, website, twitter and for comments. I think it looks a lot more cleaner and streamlined. He's always helping me along with my blog and youtube and I totally yield to him to express his creativity. Thanks babe!

Hi Bellas!

Happy Friday! Today is going to be a longggg day. I'm leaving work early at 4pm so I can make it downtown to make it to an Indian Wedding at 5pm. I'll be doing makeup for the bride, her mom and sister until about 8:30. Then I need to be at an all night sorority event from 9pm onwards...I need to get myself a Monster energy drink!

Last night I packed my train case...I have a set up at home where clients come for makeovers. Therefore, I pack my traincase only when I have a gig on location. It takes me a while to pack it because i'm so OCD. If you're on twitter you've heard me talking about it. The wedding is a traditional Indian ceremony lasting three days...so I'll be doing makeup Friday through Sunday. I also have sorority stuff all through this weekend. I'm excited though because Arabic style makeup is my fav!

Speaking of Indian bridal makeup, I did a consultation last week with another bride to be. She wasn't doing all out Bright Arabic Style makeup...she went more the neutral route. The eyes were really easy to do. The bride is actually going to have her entire face threaded so we used concealer on her eyebrows to mimic a "complete" look. The main issue we were having was picking a lip color. She's used to dark burgundy type lips but was open to trying out what would look best for the big day...I think we went through about 20 lip combos to see what I thought looked best on her and what she felt comortable with at the same time. Which one do you guys like? She's wearing lighter lips in the first two, and darker in the second two. I know which one I like but i'm not telling he he.
