Hi Bellas,

It's time for another haul!  I've got tons of goodies to share with you that I picked up at this year's Orlando Makeup Show.  There are some amazing brand new releases and kit must-haves.  I'm also giving you a sneak peak of the Sedona Lace Synthetic Vortex Set which I designed and it releases Black Friday.  Check it out!

Hi Bellas,

I wanted to share with you my haul from a few weeks ago.  My girl Joy tweeted that she found some NARS goodies at TJ Maxx and that same day I went to two different stores!  NARS is one of the most expensive makeup brands out there so I was excited to hear that they were being sold at a discount.

Check out my video haul!

While I was at TJ Maxx, I saw this cute box of tights by Betsey Johnson.  You got 3 pairs of funky tights (full tight with foot) for $16.99, good deal!  I'm obsessed with wearing tights in the winter so these were perfect.

I also was excited to see that they were selling Essie Nailpolishes for $3.99 each.  This is a really great brand and they had lots of colors.  I picked out 3 - a nude for work, a bright pink for fun, and a red for the holidays.

Now onto the good stuff!  They sold this super cute NARS lipgloss and blush set for $29.99.  It came with the super popular Deep Throat blush.  This is supposed to be like Orgasm blush but for those of us who are a little more tan.  Striptease is a nude colored gloss...a very pale, beigy pink.

Here I am wearing the lipgloss and blush.  Love the blush but the lipgloss is a little too ashy for me.  It probably needs to be paired with either a lipstick or liner to warm it up.

Lastly, I heard really good things about this body oil set from a Temptalia review.  This is a mini set and it makes a great gift.  I'm saving these for summer.  The oils smell like delicious coconuts and the shimmer side would look great on tan legs.

That's it for now!  Till next time, Ciao Bellas!

Hi Bellas!
I've been trying to spread my wings into other brands besides MAC...right now I'm really into MUFE, Bobbi Brown, and Nars. Thanks to all of these amazing online sales going on, i've been able to build up my collection considerably in the last few weeks. I now own at least one blush, bronzer, lipgloss, eyeshadow, and multiple. Woo hoo! I feel complete :)

I wanted to share with you my collective haul over the last few weeks.
Check out my video!

Taos blush - I bought this after seeing Loulud on youtube...it's such a pretty apricot/pinky shade that instantly brightens up your face. So pretty! Super pigmented so apply lightly. This is my fav NARS blush out of the bunch.

Exhibit A blush
- Scandalous Beauty turned me onto this. So gorgeous! A vibrant orangey/red that looks so warm and pretty of women of color. I'm keeping this one in my kit. Apply super duper lightly...consider also using a fan or duo stippler blush on this baby.

Luster blush - I saw this at the mall when a store lady was telling me this would look really pretty on my olive skin. It's a shimmery apricot with gold flecks. On her hand it was beautiful. I ordered it online and then read reviews on Makeup Alley. I was nervous because it seemed like everyone who reviewed it was lighter to me, and then on them, it looked "subtle and natural". I finally tried it and it is super duper natural. At first I was a bit disappointed. But once I started to work with it, I really like it! It looks great for work and I really don't have to worry about applying too much. It gives me a nice glow. I want to try wearing this with a CCB underneath though because I notice it fades by the end of the day.

Sin/Casino Duo: I really wanted to get a NARS bronzer since I've heard so many good things. I decided to pick up the blush/bronzer duo to get more for my money. Sin is a really pretty neutral blush...more of a subdued rose color. Casino is actually pretty subtle on me. I think I prefer my MAC bronzer more. I tried using the color for contouring but it has too much red in it.

Holiday gloss duo set: If you're trying to try out as many glosses as possible, this is the way to do it! The colors range from shimmery, satiny, to matte. Out of them all, Chihuahua is my favorite.

Belly Dance eyeshadow duo: Absolutely gorgeous! This duo of emerald green and burgundy would have been perfect for my holiday green and red smokey eyes. I pretty much wore it the whole time I was on x-mas vacation and got many compliments. The colors are very pigmented and extra super duper smooth and easy to blend. I add a little bit of carbon in my outer v for depth and a neutral highlight and you have a complete look.

NARS super orgasm blush-My bestie got this for me for x-mas. I was surprised that it showed up on my skin because i've heard that orgasm doesn't always show up on med to darker tones. I can see what people are talking about...the chunks of gold glitter are intense! I usually just shake off my excess when using the blush to get rid of it. This is a pretty color, but I don't see what the hype is about.

NARS Silent Night eyeshadow-My first single eyeshadow (from the bestie again). This pretty gold color comes from this year's Holiday Collection. I definitely don't have a true gold color like this in my collection, so yay! I swatched this a few times and notice that it has gold chunky flakes that like to fall off when you swipe, kinda annoying, so watch for fall out.

I also got a sample of their foundation. I tried choosing my color online. I chose wrong, lol.
So far, my favorites are: Taos Blush, Chihuahua lipglass, and Belly Dance duo. Next on my list is Turkish delight lipglass. My brother supposedly got me a sephora gift card for x-mas that he accidentally left at home, lol, so I plan to use that. After which, I'm taking a mini break from Nars since I have MAC blond, brunette redhead and Hello Kitty Collections to look forward to!

What are you favorites from NARS? Any recommendations to add to my list?

Till next time, Ciao Bellas!

Hi Bellas!

How was your weekend? It's cold here in Atlanta, brrrr....make me not want to do anything! Friday I got off of work early and ended up going on a major shopping spree to Dior, Sephora, MAC and Bobbi Brown...yikes! I ended up spending over $300 just because I felt like it. I ended up getting a few things I had been eyeing. Of course, when I got home I told the boyfriend about my haul and he brought me back down to reality. I ended up returning half the stuff on Sunday but kept a good amount still! I'll do a haul on that one next!

Friday night I also went to Morehouse College, my BF's alma mater, and we saw a Christmas concert by the Morehouse and Spelman glee clubs...it was my first Christmas concert of the year, yay! It was nice to go, but some of the singing was a little off, lol...the glee clubs performed better separate, in my opinion, then together. It seemed like the guys and gals tried to throw some songs together last minute which paled in comparison to their individual pieces.

Back to the post...

So this is wayyyy overdue. I just haven't gotten around to posting my haul from the Sephora Friends and Family sale. But in case you were wondering, I still decided to post it.

Anywho, this is a tiny haul compared to some. I've been really trying to stick to a budget as

evidenced by my smaller hauls (which clearly I didn't stick too with this recent haul!). After much debate I decided on just a few things.

Check out the video!

Makeup Forever Camouflage Concealer Palette #4

I got this for my kit. I really needed a good concealer palette for darker skin tones. I've been having difficulty correcting undereye circles lately. My girl May said she used these and I had been eyeing them for a while...so I jumped on the bandwagon. I've used just hte orange color at the right end of the palette. Let me say, this is a miracle worker for dark circles on women of color! For reals! The whole palette is worth it just for that one color alone. Now I need to remember to use some of the other colors!

NARS Holiday Eyeshadow Palette

I've been really trying to get into NARS lately, but it's just so darn expensive! So far I've picked up a few items which are all usually duos so that I can get more for my money. This palette was a great deal. I swatched it in store and was amazed at the vibrancy of the colors. However, when I received it at played with it a bit, I'm not sure that these colors are for me. Don't get me wrong, they are super pigmented and a dream. I'm going to give it another shot...if not I might return. I've been eyeing some of those Cargo eyeshadow palettes...I swatched them in the store and fell in love!

NARS Dolce Vita Set

First off, this is the cutest little package ever! The box is magnetic so you could definitely reuse it. This if my first NARS blush in lovejoy and it comes with Albatross as a highlighter. Love love love! I can't get over how great it is! It's the perfect color and albatross is one of the few highlighters i've met that never sticks patchy on the skin...it's so smooth. I might even venture to say that it's my top highlighter of all time? The lipgloss is also a really great color...mauvey and natural. I'm so glad I got this!

Lastly, I picked up a gift for my BFF, but she might read this so I'm not telling!

I did pretty good...I spent around $100. Next item to pick up...penultimate liners from the Chill Collection!

Atlanta Makeup Artist

Hi Bellas,

While I'm catching up with everything else, I'll do a post on a haul I did right before my vacay. I went to Sephora and Ulta with the intent of purchasing items that I've been eyeing for a while. I want to make a conscious effort to try other lines of cosmetics besides MAC and Sephoras and Ultas are great one stop shops to try other brands.

Here's a quick vid on my hauly-haul!

First off, here's what I picked up from Sephora. Luckily I had a giftcard so it helped ease some of the pain of shelling out the dough, lol.

Laura Mercier Primer - I got the plain oil free one to start off with. This has been a staple of makeup artists kits for years. I really love the texture...way better than my MAC prep and prime.

Nars multiple in palm beach - my first Nars product! This little wind up stick can be used for the cheeks, eyes and lips. I picked up this bronzey color to give me a sunkissed look on my trip to Costa Rica. It really is the essential travel product.

Nars lipgloss du0 in orgasm and sunset beach-everyone raves about Nars glosses I finally had to pick one up. I started with a duo so I could get more for my money. The oh so popular orgasm is a pinky gold color and sunset beach is more of a coral/orange toned shade. I will say it is not nearly as sticky as MAC lipglass but it lasts just as long.

MUFE no. 92 eyeshadow - I finally picked up this color! It's been sold out at my sephora for a while, and I haven't seen a similar shade of purple out there. It's so vibrant...I pair it with carbon and a regular highlighter color. I've worn it twice out and I always get compliments because the purple is just gorgeous. You can't beat the pigmentation in MUFE eyeshadows...I do find that you need to work a little harder to blend though.

MUFE HD foundation--I've gotten many questions on this foundation since I wore it on my Spiced Chocolate tutorial. Everyone was excited about this foundation...and many makeup artists rave about only having MUFE foundations in their kit. I tried out a few shades and settled on No. 128...for reference I'm about NC42/43 in MAC. I will say, this stuff goes on smooth! It blends a lot easier than my MAC foundation. When I apply it I need a lot less product but still have a lot of coverage. I highly recommend this. The only thing is that the shade I got is a bit too light. I've been mixing some of my Cinema Secrets foundation in it to darken it a bit. Hopefully it will work better in the winter when my skin lightens. I would definitely try to test it out at your local sephora to make sure you get a match. It's a bit pricey around $42 but I will say that this formula is phenomenal.

Next, my Ulta goodies. A lot of the items I picked up are ones I've seen others use on youtube and on the blog circuit.

I finally picked up some Essie nail polishes! I got a mini 4 pack of Summer Colors. I painted each nail a different color and wore it for nearly a week! Yes I did get some strange looks, but I really wanted to test the staying power of the polish. After a few days, and no base coat or top coat, there was really no chipping. Amazing!

I also picked up the Smashbox lip exfoliator. It's very difficult to apply lipstick or lipgloss on chapped, flaking lips. And if you do, you end up wiping it off anyways because it just looks gross. I picked this up for my kit to smooth away the dead skin before applying lip products. The little granules are big enough to exfoliate effectively yet they also dissolve like sugar so that it's not too harsh on the sensitive lip skin.

Oscar Blandi dry shampoo spray. I've been eyeing this for a while because I just hate to wash my hair everyday! You basically spray it on your roots and it coats your hair with a white powder similar to baby powder. You're supposed to let it sink in for a minute or two to absorb the oil and then brush it out. It really does work...but you've got to make sure to brush it out thoroughly or you'll like like you have gray hair...even more so if you have dark hair. Weird thing is...I only used it twice before I left for Costa Rica. I tried to use it this morning but it was empty! I questioned my BF to see if he used it...he said he didn't and I believe him because it's a random product...but how did it get empty so quick! A youtube viewer told me that she used the product before but you have to wash out the nozzle with warm water or it will get clogged and not work. I wonder if that's what happened...weird!

Not pictured, but I also purchased the Paul Mitchell UV protect spray. Since I have chemically processed hair (no guys, blond is not my natural color, he he) I'm paranoid about it turning brassy. There aren't too many products out there promoting sunscreen for the hair but I was able to locate this one at Ulta. I used it a few times in Costa Rica, it smelled nice...and I didn't notice a dramatic difference in my hair...so maybe it did work, lol. I'm going to have to test this puppy out a little more.

So that was my haul, until next time, Ciao Bellas!
