Hi Bellas,

I know many of you are as big of a fan of Lurve as I am. When I heard she was doing a contest for a new purple and pink look, I decided to put my two cents in. I’ve mentioned before that I haven’t felt completely comfortable with wearing purple and pink looks. On my skin tone, they’ve also either blended into my skin tone (pinks) or made me feel like I have a black eye (purples). But thanks to my pink and purple paint pots this is a problem of the past. Also, thanks to Lurve, this was my time to finally experiment to find a combo I like. I decided to pick colors that I really love and find if I could combine them into a really pretty look. I don’t often do pic tutorials because I actually find it more difficult to do than videos…but here goes!

Here's what I used, all MAC unless specified

EYES
-perky paint pot
-nice vice paint pot
-brow pencil in spiked
-heatherette trio #2: baby petals e/s and V.I.P e/s
-stars n rockets e/s
-contrast e/s
-H.I.P liner in midnight blue
-ardell demi wispies
-brow pencil in spiked

LIPS
-plum soft cremestick liner
-high top l/s
-NYX lipstick in Barbie pink

CHEEKS
-true romantic beauty powder blush
-MSF in light flush

Start off by applying 2 paint pots to your lid. I used perky paint pot on the inner half, and nice vice paint pot on the outer half with a clean ring finger. I went a little above the crease. Try to blend out the harsh edges of the lines. Oh, and ignore my scraggly eyebrows.

Next, I broke out my Heatherette Trio #2 and used the light pink e/s (baby petals) on my inner 1/3 of lid and the pink color (V.I.P) on the middle third of my lid a little above the crease. I used my 239 brush to apply these colors…but any maxine’s mop shape brush will do.

Try to blend out the harsh lines..i just use the 239 brush...this is what it looks like with my eyes open.

Next, I apply one of my favorite eyeshadows, stars n rockets, to the outer 1/3 of my lid a little above the crease. I used the 239 and packed on the color to make it really pop.

Next, take contrast eyeshadow, another really pretty purpley blue color, and make the outer V shape. I used my 219 brush for this. The bluish tones of this eyeshadow combine with the pinks to make a really pretty purple color.

Here’s a pic of it after a bit of blending. I also used baby petals e/s as a light brow highlight. Aren’t the colors gorgeous?

Next, I lined my eyes with H.I.P liner in midnight blue. I think the blue liner with the pink and purple e/s adds a little somethin' somethin'.

Add some falsies…I used Ardell Demi Wispies. Then use the same eyeshadows and repeat the color application to your bottom lashline.

Time for lips! I wanted to stick with the purple and pink theme but go for something a little softer. First, I lined my lips with cremestick liner in plum soft.

Next, I used high top lipstick (from the fafi collection) on top. This lipstick is a gorgeous, purple, glittery shimmery lipstick.

On top of that…I added a thin layer of NYX Barbie Pink lipgloss…I love the way the hot pink gloss combined with the sparkly purple lipstick. It looked better in person because you could see the glitter underneath.

Next I applied true romantic beauty powder blush as a nice and natural cheek color using my MAC blush brush.

As a highlight, I used the same brush and applied MAC msf in light flush as a highlight color. Make sure to blend this highlight color into the blush for a nice transition. I didn’t show these steps, but I used spiked brow pencil on my eyebrows, and MAC mineralized satinfinish foundation in NC42 and MSF natural in medium dark as my foundation and powder.

And you’re done! I wish you guys could have seen this in person…the colors were so vibrant and went really well together. I’d definitely wear this look again. I hope you like it Lurve!

Hi Bellas,

So I did my first look using heatherette trio 1. I love mood ring e/s...it's so pretty...but i'm a sucker for aqua colors. I wore this look Friday...did you notice that the lighting looks better? Well I got out of work earlier because of training and actually filmed during the day for once! One or two viewers have complained about the yellow lighting in my videos but I can't help it, it's my lamp! The BF has offerred to try bringing his lamp to my apt since it has a white light. Ain't he helpful?

Well in this look I used my bad girl lashes...the infamous patent leather finish fishnet lashes - whew! That was a mouthful. I found these a lot more delicate to work with, so you gotta be careful. In the end though, the look is hot!

With the re-release of the strobe collection i'm loving my strobe cream all over again. Unfortunately some people break out from it or feel too disco-bally, but I love the way it gives my skin a glow. I'm going to have to pull this out for my summer night looks.

Next I'll upload my purple and pink look from heatherette trio 2. Stay tuned!

Here's what I used (All MAC unless otherwise stated):
EYES
-urban decay primer potion
-rollickin paint pot
-heatherette trio 1
-dual edged liner in black funk/pop blue
-bad girl lashes
-eyebrow pencil in spiked
-imju fiberwig mascara
-jardin aires pigment

FACE
-strobe cream
-select moisture concealer NW37
-mineralized satinfinish foundation NC42
-mineralized skinfinish natural medium dark
-sculpt and shape duo in lightsweep and shadester
-shy beauty - beauty powder blush
-true romantic beauty powder blush

LIPS
-stripdown lipliner
-lollipop loving l/s
-bonus beat lipglass

***I included pics once again for those of you without the video viewing capability...I included the super cool photoshopped images the BF did as well as one of the original pics at the bottom so you can see how the makeup looks without photoshop...I think it still looks nice and glowy...it's the strobe cream!

Hi Bellas,

How was your weekend? I had a very nice one…not too busy for once. Friday night I ended the last big event of all the sorority stuff I’ve been doing lately so now I’ll have much more free time! Saturday and Sunday were pretty relaxed. I spent a lot of quality time with my boyfriend since I’ve been really busy lately with the sorority. It was so nice…he treated me like a princess. I told him that I was definitely feeling the love and he told me that he’s been making it a focus of his to make sure and spend quality time with me so that he doesn’t take me for granted…can you say awww?

Saturday we went to dinner and then out to the club to meet up with a friend of mine who flew into town for her grad school spring break. I was sooo glad he came with me. My friend was already there with my roommate and we ended up meeting them there. They were rolling with about 8-10 grown frat boys. By this I mean that they were grown men, probably near or in their early 30’s, but still acting like little boys. Being that I was with my boyfriend, they didn’t try to prey on me like they did to my two friends. They had no shame, trying to coerce any person with female genitalia to spend the night with them. AHHHHHH, I hate when frat boys act like they’re the ISH and automatically treat you like a groupie. As grown men they should know by now how to treat women with respect. I won’t go into too much detail for fear of incriminating some of my friends…but by the end of the night, as soon as the lights turned on in the club I booked it! I didn’t want to be Mrs. Mommy again and make sure everybody was being on their best behavior. If anything was going to happen that I wasn't going to approve of...I didn't want to see it. So I made sure my friends were okay, and then went home.

Anyways…that was Saturday. Sunday I slept in and my boyfriend offered to wash my car and vacuum it and everything. I went with him and just sat in the car as I watched him wash it. That’s real love right there! My car was getting way toodirty…beforehand if I even brushed against it I automatically got gray soot on my pants. Now it’s so shiny and nice. If I had rims they’d be blinging!

In terms of makeup, I wore my import girl look out to the club on Saturday…it’s really really easy to do actually. I even wore my “new york” lashes out (as if New York from VH1's I Love New York)…the really long ones. I posted my tutorial on You Tube this Sunday as well. Take into account that this was filmed BEFORE I cut my hair. I think some of the you tubers were a lil confused, lol. Someone on my wall asked if I put in extensions, he he. Fortunately, my loyal viewers corrected any confusion for me and responded to the people on the wall. This comes in real handy b/c a lot of time other viewers answer questions before I even have to respond…and I do not mind that at all!

Per Alien Man’s request, I’m also going to post pics so you guys can see the end product in case you can’t view vids at work ;)

Hope you enjoy!

Hi Bellas,

Sorry for my delayed posting. I had a crazy weekend and took a sick day on Monday to recover. As I mentioned before I had my friend from home coming in for the weekend to celebrate her birthday. She also brought a friend to stay with her of whom we had not met before. All I have to say is “Drama Central”! My friends and I (meaning my friends here in Atlanta) hardly have any drama, and we all maintain a nice equilibrium. When my friend Cindy came into town, she brought her drama with her! Mainly it was her friend Tasha who caused the tension. Basically, she was just an inconsiderate house guest. My roommate Alex graciously gave up her bed so that my friend Cindy could sleep in there with Tasha. I won’t go into too much detail, but let’s say that by the 3rd night, my roommate Alex told Cindy “So where’s Tasha sleeping tonight?” . Cindy replied, “With me” and Alex responded “Oh no, she’s not sleeping in MY bed. If she apologizes and it’s okay with Ren, she can sleep on the couch”. Ouchers! So instead, Tasha didn’t even sleep at our apartment, she slept at her cousin’s place. Crazy huh? I’m wondering why she didn’t stay there in the first place…

Anyhow, this weekend I was able to do Cindy’s makeup. I gave her a soft silver and blue look which looked really pretty on her. Unfortunately she wears these blue colored contacts which really irritate her eyes so every time I tried doing her eye makeup her eyes would tear up! Luckily I had visine on hand…just another situation you need to anticipate when doing one’s makeup. I’ll post pictures later.

Since I was layed out at home yesterday I was able to edit my Valentine’s Day look…it came out pretty well. It’s not really a really artsy bright red or pink V-Day look…instead I tried to pick something soft and pretty that someone could really wear on a Valentine’s Day date…a look that wouldn’t freak a guy out, because you know they sometimes get intimidated when us girls where our bright looks. I might do another more funky/extreme V-day look if I have time. I added my fav song of the moment “with you” by Chris Brown to the video. I hope you guys enjoy!

Hi Guys,

As you might of heard me mention, my last webcam sucked. I already returned in to Target yesterday. I filmed a smokey eye tut on it but it came out too slow and delayed;it was hard to see me doing any motions without having a weird trail effect, know what I mean? So last night I recreated the smokey eye look from my holiday red lip video. This was a request from one of my blog readers so I definitely wanted to get it out timely. The only one left is to get my purple eyes video done for Mrs. Lynne. I think I may turn this into a video for my you tube page later. Please keep the suggestions coming. Hope you enjoy!

What I used:
I mainly used an eyeshadow palette I ordered from CameraReadyCosmetics.Com. I've been raving about these pro products for weeks. I skipped the foundation and blush since I already had it on from my previous look.

Other items used:
-Fiberwig mascara
-MAC kohl pencil in Smolder
-MAC lip erase in Dim
-MAC lipstick in Freshbrew
-MAC lipglass in C-Thru
-MAC e/s in Vex
-Ardell Gisele false lashes

1)Note the e/s palette I used. I used the light brown color on the far left and the dark blue/gray and black colors on the right.

2)Add base. I used bare canvas paint applied to entire eyelid up to brow bone with clean ring finger.

3)Apply light brown to the entire lid using fluffy eyeshadow brush.

4) Apply the blue color to the outer ½ of lid forming the outer V shape

5) Use your 219 brush to emphasize the outer V using the black color.

6)blend in harsh lines with 222 brush.

7)Line top eyes with kohl pencil forming a little wing at the end. Line bottom waterline as well.

8)Use small e/s brush to apply black eyeshadow to lower lashline.

9)Make sure eyelashes are already curled. Apply false lashes. I used Ardell Gisele lashes with duo lash adhesive.

10)Apply mascara to real lashes to blend them into false lashes.

11)Tightline upper waterline using kohl pencil. (I forgot the picture, but highlight browbone with vex e/s)

12)Apply lip erase to void out your natural lip color. You're aiming for a nude lip.

13)Apply fresh brew l/s and top with c-thru lipglass.

And voila! You're done :)
