L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation Review

Hi Bellas,

I'm back with another review.  These days, the drugstore beauty brands never cease to amaze me on how they're coming up with innovative products on par with designer and department beauty brands.  Today i'm reviewing the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation.  Check it out!

I'm already a fan of the regular L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation so I was excited to try this Cushion version.  I previously wore the shade w6 sun beige.

L'Oreal decribes the foundation as their 1st liquid foundation in a cushion. True Match Lumi Cushion provides a fresh luminous look in just 1 tap. Using puff applicator, tap makeup onto skin. Layer for perfectly customizable coverage.

L'Oreal send me 3 shades, N5.5, C5.5 and N3.5.  I was hoping I would have gotten a W (warm) shade but I made it work.

I ended up mixing two shades, wearing N5.5 in the center of my face to give a brightening effect, and C5.5 on the outside of my face to bring back my tan.  You can see from the picture below that although they are the shade number shade, the colors are very different.

L'Oreal recommends using the puff in the compact to press the product into the skin to get a buildable coverage.  I do like how the compact has a plastic flip out tray which products the puff from the wet foundation sponge.  It keeps it sanitary and prevents the foundation pad from drying out.  On the right side you can see the puff application gives a nice coverage.

On the left hand of my face I applied the product using a damp beauty blender.  I like this method better.  I found that the L'Oreal puff was a little too thin and flimsy.  The beauty blender gives me enough control so that I can quickly apply the foundation and build the coverage where I need it.  I also tried applying this with a traditional flat foundation brush but I didn't like that application.

And here is the final look with makeup.  I found that the coverage is indeed luminous which I love.  The product held decently...it's not really a longwear foundation but it's great for those of us who like foundation that feels like skin.  I wish I had the right shade to test out.  I might go to the drugstore and pick it up because I do really like the formula.

I hope this review was helpful!  You can find this product at your local drugstore/beauty aisle.
