Baby Update - One Month Post Partum - First Baby

Hi Bellas,

Time really flies.  Here is my one month post partum and baby update featuring baby Bella in the video.  Things have gotten a lot better, still sleepless nights but I'm recovering and feeling more emotionally stable.  I share with you my 1 month post baby bod as well as some post partum and baby must haves.  Check it out!

Updates!

  • Recovery - My Vaginal Bleeding slowed down by 2 weeks but I'm still spotting through week 4 and sore.  I took the ibuprofen my doctor prescribed to help with the pain and also absolutely loved the mesh underwear and perineal ice packs that I had from the hospital.  I try to avoid squatting down as it causes cramps down there.
  • Sleepless Nights - I'm definitely just in the weeds trying to get the baby to eat, sleep and not cry so much.  We're still trying to find out a consistent schedule and see what works and what doesn't.
  • Lots of laundry - I've definitely had to do much more laundry than ever before.  The baby has spit up on her and me and soiled many onesies.  I use Dreft baby detergent for baby Bella.
  • Belly Binding - I've been consistently wearing my post partum belt to help with swelling and to make my stomach go down.  I think it made a huge difference with the snap back.  I got mine on Amazon for use $12.99.  Make sure to wear it over a camisole and hand wash it.

  • Book Recommendations:
  1. The Happiest Baby on the Block  - My friend recommended this to me to help learn how to quiet baby cries and get her to sleep.  As a first time mom it helped so much!  I learned the 5 S's to calm babies down.  I definitely recommend.
  2. Baby Wise - Another friend gifted me this book because it helped her get her babies sleeping full nights by 2 to 3 months old.  I've been trying to put baby on a feed, wake sleep schedule and it seems to be helping.
  • Breast feeding - My boobs are no longer engorged and baby Bella is latching well and gaining weight.  I feel cramps sometimes as I breastfeed which means my uterus is contracting and shrinking
  • Baby Personality - I will say my baby is "spirited".  She's very strong, has super loud cries and her eyebrows are in a perpetual frown like the Rock, lol.  I'm interested to see how her personality develops as she gets older.

If you want to send baby girl a gift, my Amazon registry is still up!  I've really cut it down to feature what baby needs now as a newborn.
