Deck of Scarlet Palette No.5 Review

Hi Bellas,

Have you tried the palettes by Deck of Scarlet?  I had the chance to test out their newest palette - No. 5. Get ready for some holiday fun. This palette comes with a mix of natural tones, metallic shades, and pops of color. You also get two very versatile pencils to complete the look.  Check it out!

Let’s start with the shadows.
Dream is the essential matte vanilla shade, great for a nude highlight or all over lid color.
Gold Digger is a gorgeous antique gold with a lovely shimmer which will make your lid pop.
Luna is a deep metallic plum, great for a not so typical smokey eye.

You also receive two cheek colors to complement your look. The best part is that you can use these shades anywhere you please – the cheeks or the eyes, it’s your pick!
Prosecco could be an illuminator or a blush. It’s got a gorgeous rose shimmer that gives sheen and shimmer to the skin.
Dusk is a medium toned bronzer with subtle glow. It’s got a neutral undertone so it won’t look too orange or too gray on anyone.

Onto the lippies! This palette goes from day to night with two shades to choose from and both have a pretty cream finish.
Pinky Promise is that perfect mauve pink. It’s great for an everyday lip and a gorgeous nude.
Sass Queen is a bright fuchsia that totally makes a statement lip. It’s perfect for a night out.

Liners
Two liners complete the look. They are both retractable and surprisingly super creamy and pigmented.
Belle is the perfect match to Pinky Promise lipstick. It’s great as a natural lip liner and you can also fill in your entire lip to create a stained effect.
Twilight is a purple brown shade that is awesome for some smokey lining. It was also deep enough to get a perfect winged line.

We were able to create 4 completely different makeup looks with this palette. They’re great for everyday errands to your holiday soirees.
Look 1) Glow Girl – Use Prosecco highlighter on the lids and cheeks for a rosey glow. Wing out the eyeliner with Twilight pencil. Top is off with Pinky Promise lipstick lined with Belle pencil.
Look 2) Purple Passion – Use Twilight pencil to create a base on your eyelid. Apply Luna on top for maximum smokey purple impact. Blend out the edges of the crease with Dusk Bronzer. Wear Pinky Promise on the lips and top it with clear gloss for a glassy effect.
Look 3) Matte and Mauve – Use Dream shadow all over the lid for a matte, nude look. Line the entire lips with Belle Pencil and fill in to create a chic, mauve lip.
Look 4) Pink Pop – Bronze it up by placing Dusk in the crease and around the perimeter of the face. Line eye eyes with Twilight pencil for emphasis. Finish off with a coat of Sass Queen lipstick on the lips for dramatic effect.

In the end, this palette surprised us with its quality and color choices. We were able to create looks on two different skin tones and both were gorgeous. Some stand outs – Prosecco absolutely glows on tan skin as a highlighter. Twilight pencil is super opaque and creamy, a great liner staple. Gold Digger eyeshadow is so pigmented and so pretty on the eyes and perfect for the holidays. Pink Pop is such a stand out bold lip shade that everyone should try. We hope you enjoyed the review!
