I was going through some of my most popular blog posts and decided to bring back some favorites. Today I'm showing you my favorite foundations for tan skin. I consider myself in the brown category and it can be though to find shades and products that give me the right amount of brown with yellow undertone. Today I'm swatching my favorite foundations for you - both high end and drugstore so there's an option for everybody. Check it out!
I literally pulled my favorite foundations from my makeup stash. These are the ones that have stood the test of time. The only item missing is my CoverFX Total Cover Cream Foundation which is a round compact so it didn't photograph as well with these tall bottles.
High End Favorites:
YSL Touch Eclat BD60. This is darkest shade I have but is perfect for when I'm at my tannest in the summer months. I love the brown tone and the coverage is light and dewy - perfect for Summer.
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation 8 - I wore this for my wedding with a little bit of the YSL on the perimeter of my face. I love the glowy finish, it's my favorite looking foundation of the bunch. My skin just looks airbrushed. The shade is a teeny bit beige but I can make it work.
IT Cosmetics CC+ Tan - It's crazy because when I first tried this I wasn't really a fan. It sat in my makeup drawer for months till I randomly pulled it out, now I love it! Tan is a great shade for me when I'm right in the middle, not too pale or not too tan, so it's a great all year round shade. The coverage is great without being cakey and it was spf50+. I will definitely repurchase this.
CoverFX Total Cream Cover Foundation G70 - This is such an awesome product. G70 is also my Summer color but I could rock G60 in the Winter. The coverage of the cream is great and keeps my skin looking like skin. I'm also obsessed with their Pressed Mineral Foundation which will be added to my Sephora cart very soon.
Here are some of my swatches on paper and on skin. You can see some of the colors are a little darker and more yellow than others.
Favorite Drugstore Foundations:
I only have two swatched but there are a ton of favorites out there I just haven't had a chance to find a great shade match. I know L'Oreal has a lot of new foundations that everyone is raving about.
L'Oreal Lumi Sun Beige W6 - In general I love the Lumi line because I'm a dewy finish kind of girl. This has a great yellow undertone despite Beige being in its name.
CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Golden Tan - I tried this on recently and was amazed at how good it covered and I love the warm tone of the foundation. It's a great option for photos too.
