Product Battle Series: L'Oreal Telescopic vs Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liners

Hi Bellas,

I have another post in my Product Battle Series.  As many of you may know, I'm a die-hard black liquid liner user. It's an integral part to my makeup routine.  Today, I'm comparing two popular drugstore brands to see which one has the best liquid liner.  Check it out!

The purpose of this Product Battle Series is to compare similar products and provide my opinion on which I think is the better buy based on the criteria below.

Availability:  Both the L'Oreal Carbon Black Telescopic Liquid Liner and the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner are found at the drugstores and are pretty accessible.  Revlon has been around for years but I think this is a newer product from L'Oreal.  In the end, it's a tie - both are easily accessible at the drugstore.
Staying Power:  I'd didn't have problems with flaking or fading from either of them.  I'm very happy with the results of both.  Again, it's a tie - both last all day.

Opacity:  With liquid liner, you want to make sure that you get a opaque line.  Some liners are a bit see-through and require a couple of layers for coverage which can be a pain.  I found both of them to apply opaquely.  Interesting enough however, my Revlon liner performs better over time.  It's almost like the formula thickens a bit which I like.  In terms of L'Oreal, it's got decent opacity too.  I'd say it's a draw between the two.
Packaging/Applicator:  Both products have a felt tip liner in a pot format.  You receive the same amount of product in both.  I love these kind of applicators because they don't dry out as easily as the pen type liners that are popular now-a-days.  I also love to use it in my kit because I can just tap the bottle onto a palette and use an eyeliner brush to keep it sanitary without double dipping.  However, while they have the same felt tip pointed liner, I noticed that the L'Oreal one does not come to a fine tip at all and it makes it difficult to get a nice straight line which is a total bummer.  In this case, Revlon has a better applicator and wins.
Price:  I compared prices via www.drugstore.com like I do with all my product battles.  Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner retails for $7.49 and L'Oreal Carbon Black Telescopic Precision Liquid Liner $9.95.  At $2.50 cheaper, Revlon wins.

Final Result:  It's a win for Revlon!  I wanted to try something new and The Carbon Black aspect of the liner from L'Oreal intrigued me but ultimately the price and applicator disappointed me in the end.  I'll still use it till the end though because I don't want to waste it.  I guess in this case we learned that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Have you guys tried a liquid liner that you love?  Let me know in the comments below!
