Senna Cosmetics Virtual Vintage Collection Review

Hi Bellas,

Whew well i'm taking a mini-break from uploading my Halloween tutorials.  In the meantime, I'm back with another review.  I received an unexpected package a few weeks ago featuring Senna's newest collection for Fall/Winter 2010 Virtual Vintage.  This collection is great for the Holiday season and the products are truly amazing.

The Virtual Vintage collection is truly a mix of modern, femininity and vintage.  The collection is described as "The Past Inspires the Future...The Future Rewrites the Past."  I love the cover work on this collection.  The makeup is bold, clean and definitely makes a statement.  I was lucky enough to receive some items from the collection.

Buff & Brighten - This duo is part loose powder, part pressed highlight.  The look is all about poreless, flawless skin.  Use the powder to set your foundation and the highlighter to brighten areas like the cheek bones, cupid's bow, and tear ducts.  The powder is nice and silky and is nearly invisible on the skin - a plus for a white powder!  The highlighter can also be used an eyeshadow.  It has a pearl like finish...darker skin tones might need to exercise a light hand.  I think the product would be suited most for light to medium skin tones.
This swatch shows the loose powder in it's natural state on the left, the loose powder pressed in in the middle, and the highlighter on the right.

Hue Face Color - This blush is made for nude definition that looks understated and elegant.  I wasn't sure how much this would show on my cheeks because in person the color is even more muted than it translates in the picture.  However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out how pretty it looked on the cheeks.  As mentioned, it's an understated, rosy glow even on my tan skin.  I definitely recommend.  Better yet, the compact is really sleek and comes with it's own mirror.
Eyeshadows - The single pot shadows I received are absolutely amazing.  The quality is superb...super smooth, highlight pigmented, easy to blend - really really great!
Blend - This is a nude matte skin tone that looks amazing as a wash over the eye, a highlight color, or even a blending color.  It is a nude but has a hint of pinky warmness.
Fixation - I got really excited over this Gold Flecked Green.  My swatches don't do it justice...it really reflects the gold in the pan as well as on the eye.  It's so pigmented but doesn't blend out once on the eye - thumbs up!

Lipsticks - The lipsticks reminded me of true, vintage Hollywood.  If I need to dress up my face and fast, I always go for a red lip.  The consistency is creamy and pigmented.

Garnet - Sheer Gold Flecked Grape - The product actually looks a lot darker in the tube than on the lips.  Once applied, you get a sheer plum color that would like great on my younger Indian Brides.
Valentina - Classic Red Cream - I can totally picture Dorothy wearing this as she skipped along the Yellow Brick Road.

Dusty Rose Lip Liner - This browned rose tone works great on so many skin tones.  It's the perfect everyday color as well.  The pencil is really soft and creamy and glides right over the lips.
Black Velvet Eye Lining Pencil - This is a really good pencil...similar to MAC Smolder.  It's richly pigmented and doesn't pull on sensitive eye skin.

Lush Lip Lacquer- This is a pretty everyday gloss that will give your lips that juicy, just bitten look.

Sugar scrub-You get a free scrub with a $50 purchase.  It also comes with a nifty plastic spatula.  I like to keep this in my kit to prime clients' lips.  Just apply with your finger and tissue off.

You can find these products at www.sennacosmetics.com I definitely plan on using these products for a Holiday Tutorial. Stay tuned!

Those lipsticks look really emollient. The textures seems like lustre shades from MAC.
