Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving break.  Sorry for no post yesterday but I was recouperating from my trip to Orlando these last few days and on top of it, I have finals for my MBA this week, craziness!  Who studies during Thanksgiving break, sheesh! LOL

Anywho, I wanted to share a great deal for those of you looking for a traincase.  My friends at www.Yazmo.com are having a Cyber Week long special!

Hi Bellas,

I'm back with another post.  Yesterday I showed you the amazing Glamcor mobile studio and traincases but if you are looking for a cost-saving option for right now, this post if for you.  One of my lovely followers Ada came up with a great idea for an affordable traincase.  She went to the craft store for her solution.  You know I love going to my local Michaels to get items for my kit - from brushes, to my kit bag, to decorative items for avant guarde makeup.  If you're in the market for an affordable traincase make sure to check this out!

Hi Bellas,

I'm finally back with another video and it's a good one! Thank you for your patience. It's been about a month since my last video. I was having some serious technical difficulties with my video software program. I'm glad to be back with a much anticipated video featuring the most buzzed about line in the beauty industry - Glamcor! This innovative brand has been the talk of the town with their amazing, light, studio, and mobile traincase solutions. I got to take a personal tour of the studio and this is only the 2nd video showing these products.

Hi Bellas!

I get a lot of questions from aspiring makeup artists on tips, tricks, techniques and advice to help them get started. I've been wanting to do this series for a while to show you all some things I've learned along the way. The next installment in the series will focus on Makeup Artist Chairs.

Today I will be featuring traincases. These are essential for traveling makeup artists or even for those who are looking to store makeup. In the video, I go over the benefits and purposes of a traincase, qualities you'll want to look for, as well as show you my collection of traincases.

I'm a huge nerd when it comes to researching a product. After hours of internet searching, I found that http://www.yazmo.com/ was the best resource for finding a huge assortment of professional makeup traincases at a decent price. This is after comparing prices on various price finder sites and intense googling.

I've been able to partner with yazmo to offer you guys a great deal. Check out these discount codes and special offers:

Use the code renren to get 10% off your total order!
Also, for the month of November, you get free shipping! (This helps a lot since traincases are super heavy and expensive to ship)
Lastly, all orders over $99 (which are most of the nicer traincases) get a free 9 piece brush set!

Make sure to check out the video if you are an aspiring makeup artist or if you're in the market for a new traincase.

I'm currently in love with the Pro Aluminum Makeup Case All Black 4 Wheeled Spinner TS-88A. It's the newest model and seems to combine all of the best qualities of my former traincases into one.

This is what the website has to say about it:

Also included is an ergonomic shoulder strap that turns the top section into a carrying makeup case, for those smaller jobs.

This is a must have for any professional makeup artist! Take it on your next trip, next job, or let it become a fixture in your bathroom or bedroom. The sleek all black finish is sure to attract attention and turn heads. Buy this ultimate cosmetic case while supplies last.

Overall Makeup Case Dimensions: 14.5“ length x 10” width x 31” height
Top Section: 14.5“ length x 10” width x 11” heightBottom Section: 14.5“ length x 10” width x 20” heightTop Trays: 7“ length x 7” width x 2” heightTop empty space below trays: 14 “ length x 9” width x 4.5” heightBottom empty space (without tray): 14 “ length x 9” width x 17.5” height

PROS
-Of course I love how it has all 4 wheels so it can be spun 360 degrees. This makes it easier to navigate and twist and turn in tight places. Also, you don't have to worry about dragging it at a 45 degree angle which places all of the weight on your arm. Instead, you can just keep it upright on 4 wheels and push it...so much lighter!
-I like the padded, vinyl lined trays. They look nicer and cushion makeup more when you travel.
-The sleek black finish makes it look super professional and very chic.
-Holds a lot of makeup!
-Removeable trays, straps, keys and lock are a plus
-Drawer lining makes it easy to clean
-Wheels are very smooth and run easily

CONS
-it doesn't have the elastic straps on the inside lid and sides of bottom portion like it's predecessor the ts-36
-the trays on the top portion of the traincase could pull out a little farther in my opinion, I don't like when you have to reach under the tray to reach items in the tray below it.

I hope you guys enjoyed my first installment in this series. Stay tuned for more!

Hi Bellas!

I'm so excited to finally show you my new traincase I've been using. I wanted to wait until I actually had some traveling gigs to test out how this would handle on the road.

Now don't get me wrong, I love my current hard sided traincases like this one I got from Yazmo.com.

I love how it's so huge and can fit all of my kit supplies...but trying to lift this up stairs and into small spaces can become a pain!

You guys remember how I was feening for the MAC Zuca Soft Sided Traincase? Honestly, I just couldn't justify spending $270 for the one small piece.

In case you don't know this by now, when it comes to something I want, I'm a Googler! I wanted to find a more cost efficient alternative...I found one!

On Yazmo.com they have the Pro Soft-Sided Rolling Cosmetic Case with Trays TS-100 and they also offer a matching Pro Soft Sided Carry On Cosmetic Case with Trays TS-99.

Both pieces combined are still less than the Zuca bag!

Testing them Out
I had two gigs this past weekend...an airbrushing gig and then an Indian wedding. I packed the two cases separately for each gig to see how they held up. When I first checked these traincases out I was amazed at how many drawers, clear zippies, compartments, brush holders these things had! I love keeping my items over the top organized so I was excited to see that these traincases were really designed for a makeup artist. You can tell by the little touches...removeable velcro baggies, clear zipped up compartments...trays with removeable dividers. The only thing I was concerned with was being able to find my items with the millions of different sections and compartments. You need to check out my video to see how I fit everything in the bag.

Check out my video showing off the traincases.
Mind you the video is 24 minutes long...the reason for this is also because I show you exactly what I packed in the traincases for both gigs. So not only do you get to see the new traincase, but you also get to see an updated makeup kit vid.

Final Thoughts
I love these traincases! What a weight off my shoulders...literally! The weight of both pieces is probably a third of the poundage of my hard traincase set. It was still annoying to drag it upstairs, but I could do it far more easily than before. I'm loving the little velcro pouches they include as well as the large space inside...big enough to fit two regular sized airbrush compressors. Remember to try and keep this traincase standing upright when traveling...that way things don't fall out of the compartments. Also, if you're worried about powders cracking in palettes, you can always keep them in the carry on case and carry it over your shoulder.

Traincase Porn time! (Click on pics to expand)
Packed for my Indian Wedding Gig

First we'll start off with the TS-99...I call it the duffelbag traincase because that's what it looks like to me.

I keep all my lashes and glues/tweezers/scissors to apply them in the side compartment. These are the removable velcro baggies on the right I was talking about.

Next we'll move onto the TS-100...the Rolling Traincase as I like to call it.

Top portion contains foundations, powders, blushes. I keep business cards in the side flap.
Side portion where I keep all the skincare stuff...along with a mirror and contract.

Here are where the trays are...I took one tray out so that way I had room to store my dirty brushes..cups...msfs...etc...

Here is my lippies section...glosses, lipsticks, lipliners..lip palettes.

Now just the rolling traincase packed for my airbrush tattoo gig.

I removed the drawers in the bottom compartment so I could fit a mini traincase filled with paints along with my tattoo book.

You really need to watch the video to see the products and traincases in better detail.

Meanwhile, Yazmo is generous enough to offer 10% off with the code RENREN. I'm telling you, this site is one of a kind...the only place to find professional train cases in so many styles and a good price. Check them out!

Hi Bellas,

I was reading through Specktra yesterday and I noticed that MAC is putting out a new traincase partnered with a company called Zuca. I usually ignore MAC traincases because I feel that they are overpriced and too small...however this one stuck out because it was Nylon and a rolly type of traincase - which I prefer.

I checked out MAC pro and the case was sold out! Even on Zuca's website they are on backorder, lol.

I was on the internet for hours yesterday looking it up, here are the cool things about it:
1)The luggage is only 8.5 pounds...way less than a traincase. My traincase from Yazmo is amazing but it's huge and so heavy. Try lifting that up flights of stairs...not fun! The smaller size of the traincase I think will also allow you to pack smarter.
2) It has an aluminum frame made of the same materials as airplanes which give it strength. The top of the luggage is also used as a seat for up to 300lbs...great for doing makeup in tight spaces!
3) The wheels are like roller blade wheels so they are super quiet...and they also are recessed so they don't get in the way if you're storing this in an overhead compartment on a plane.
4) They contain 5 square mesh pouches that stack on top of each other like a shelf. You don't have to open the traincase horizontally...the luggage remains upright and you can unzip it revealing the stacked shelves. Perfect for keeping makeup inside the traincase and organized! This is my favorite part of the traincase.
5) It has a cover for air travel.
6) You can remove the nylon waterproof fabric from the frame and wash it in the washing machine. Great to clean up any makeup spills!

I'm in love! But it's $295! I don't neeeddddd it since I have two really awesome traincases...but it's calling my name? What do you think ladies, should I get it?

Hi Bellas,

First all I just want to say, "We did it!" Last night's Presidential election marked history. Remember this day so that we can one share it with our grandchildren. Don't lose sight of your passion and initiative with politics and to exercise your right to vote. "Yes we can!"

Back to the post!

Ever since my first youtube video on my traincase I received dozens of emails and youtube messages on where they could purchase one like it. Unfortunately, I had purchased mine from an Ebay Seller...the kind that sells items for random people. There weren't any other traincases like mine that I could find anywhere on the internet. However, when people would ask me about it, I would always refer them to http://www.yazmo.com/. This is the best site for finding affordable, quality traincases.

For the longest time, I've been wanting to upgrade my traincase. When I do large weddings and fashion shows my single layer traincase was getting harder to pack with the key essentials. You guys know I love to be prepared! It's also a lot quicker to clean up after gigs when you have a little extra breathing room in your traincase. I find myself struggling to fit everything like lego pieces in my kit when I'm done...and i'm not always successful!

I had been eyeing this traincase for months! It's the Pro Rollng Black Makeup Train Case TS-36 for $169.95. It's also the best selling traincase on the website!

Here's what the website has to say about it:

Pro Aluminum Makeup Case Black TS-36

The ultimate professional makeup case kit. It has compartments and trays that are convenient and endless. It has trays that you can pull up and out of the base to hold brushes or pencils. Check out what this traincase really looks like in my youtube video. I even packed it to show you how much you can fit inside.

The traincase has a lot of qualities that I like:

1) It is a rolling traincase. This means, you can pull it like a luggage. This is huge for me because makeup gets really heavy...the traincase alone is pretty sizeable. A rolling traincase is essential to saving your back and making travel much easier.

2) I like how the traincase is black. The edges are reinforced with silver metal to keep it sturdy. I think black hides dirt and scratches better than silver. Plus, it matches my other traincase! It's like a little luggage set :)

3) The traincase is huge! As you can see in the picture, it has two stacking parts. The top can be used on its own and is the typical traincase with sliding out trays that are tiered. It also has a padded strap so you can carry it on your shoulder. The bottom piece has a tray with sections that can be removed, and then the bottom part is very deep...big enough to hold hair products, an airbrush compressor or bottles of makeup remover and alcohol. It also has its own cover so you can just use this bottom rolling section if you want.

If you are running out of space for your makeup (hello makeup addicts) or like me, want a larger traincase for big gigs...this is the best traincase for you. The website also has this traincase in silver, pink, and burgundy. I spent several hours researching other traincases on the internet, and this is the cheapest and most legit of them all. Also, there's free shipping! That alone saves you at least $30. The site also has multiple other traincases of different sizes and colors for you to check out.

On top of it, I also worked out a special deal for you guys because I love you so much.

Makeup By RenRen readers can purchase a traincase at a 10% discount if you type in the code RENREN.

That means you'd get this traincase for $152.96 including shipping! If you've done any type of traincase research you know that this is a steal.

Have fun shopping!

Hi Bellas,

Like I mentioned a few weeks ago, I worked on a wedding gig where I was responsible for doing the makeup of 7 bridesmaids. Luckily, I had an assistant to help carry the load, shout out to Jaimie!

When you're doing a wedding gig with a large number of clients, it's important to pack your traincase effectively. I decided to film a video showing how I have everything organized and what I packed. I figured that this would be helpful for all you makeup artists out there...whether you're building your kit, or whether you want to see what others have in their kits.

As you can see, I like to keep everything separated by category. I got a bunch of these clear pencil cases from office max for about a dollar. They're big and clear so you can quickly see what you're looking for. They're also more study than the regular ziplock bag. I also use my trusty label maker to label each bag. I keep my skincare items in a clear pencil box because it's more sturdy for the heavier liquids. The box was almost about $2 from office max.

I would love to see what you guys put in your kit as well! I'm always trying to learn something new.

Here are a few basics for packing for a wedding gig:
-waterproof everything - mascara, eyeliner...to protect the makeup from the tears of joy
-multiple disposables - lip brushes, mascara wands, sponges...to cut time on cleaning brushes
-neutral colors - creams, browns, peaches, pinks, golds--this is pretty much the wedding color palettes, for eyes, cheeks and lips
-91% alcohol in a spray bottle - this higher concentration dries quicker and it's important for quick sanitation between clients
-touch up kits for bridesmaids - i packed a mini ziplock bag with a disposable lip brush, nude lip gelee in a 5 gram jar, and an oil blotting sheet. that way they can touch up throughout the day after I'm long gone.
-bright smile, friendly attitude and calm disposition - with all the wedding chaos it's good to be able to go with the flow and be a calming force to your clients. there's always multiple things going wrong but you gotta be prepared for it.

Those are just a few things I've noticed work for me...please share any of your tips!

Here's a video showing you exactly what I pack:
