Hi Bellas,
How was your weekend? Mine went pretty well. Friday I went to a birthday dinner at Benihanas and then saw the movie Max Payne with the crew. In my opinion the movie was uber corny, save your money and see something else.
Saturday I did the makeup for one of my best friends, her mom, and her grandma. They were attending a wedding and wanted to look fab. My bestie came over to assist with the hair while I did a makeup. They all looked amazing! I can't wait to show you the pictures...I remembered to take a before and after this time.
Sunday I chilled and went with my friend to a baby shower...there was so much good food but I couldn't eat it all since I stuffed myself at an Indian buffet right before!
So my internet has been acting up for the last week...my condo supplies free internet services but they've been having issues. I just went ahead and signed up for Comcast because I couldn't take it anymore. I should have it up by Friday, but in the meantime it's a little difficult me to upload videos and pics that are on my computer at home. I've been wanting to upload my Red She Said and Sheer Minerals video since Thursday :(
In the meanwhile, I'll make do. Luckily I have some posts I've already done! Here's one I did back in August but forgot to post, lol.
Just wanted to share with you some of the items that i've been loving recently.

-Taco Bell Volcano Tacos---mmmm I like anything spicy

-MAC Spiced Chocolate quad--the last two brides I worked with both love this look! It's great for fall weddings.

-Bing Matteen--ummm used it in like the last 4-5 shoots and shows i've done, lol...I can't get enough of it!

-MUFE No. 92 eyeshadow - this purple is to die for...I can't stop wearing it!

-Forever 21 black cardigan --this is perfect for work and it's super comfy....usually I don't repeat clothing two weeks in a row but I made an exception for this cardy

-MACY's cargo khaki pants - these pants are a God send! I love when my bottoms fit loose...it feels like I'm wearing pajamas!

-The prison drama Oz - this is a really old HBO show about the lives of male prisoners in a new type of prison...it's so good! The show is really old but they've been playing episodes every night at 11pm. My boyfriend and I are hooked! I just got him the entire 6 dvd box set for his birthday.

-My boyfriend--lol, that one was for you Mike!

What are you guys loving right now?

Hi Bellas,

I wanted to do a little bit of catching up with things that have been going on in my life. It’s been pretty busy as you can see.

Every weekend is always a little more tiring because this is when I book the majority of my makeup gigs. My 9-5 prevents me from doing too much during the week unless it’s after work. Fortunately, I had Saturday afternoon to chill with my boyfriend. I was able to pick up 7 NYX Round lipsticks for a dollar each from a hair supply store. I’m going to test some of them up on a fashion show I’m doing on Thursday.

Speaking of the fashion show, I’m attending the dress rehearsal for this week’s fashion show tonight. I’ll get a better idea of what I’m working with. The designer wants me to create an eyeshadow look with bright colors – yay! I’m thinking yellows, oranges, blues, and purples. The rest of the face will be pretty toned down. Sounds like fun right? I’m going to work on a face chart to show you the look before the show.

In terms of you tube videos, I’ve been meaning to upload one but like I said, busy busy busy! The next video I’ll upload hopefully tonight or tomorrow is my MAC Pro haul video from the 4th of July. I’ve been using many of the products I bought. Some of the most used so far are my face and body mixing medium as well as my new blushes and sculpting powders.

Here’s what I have coming up:
-MAC Pro Haul Video
-How to Pack your Set Bag Video
-Kim Kardashian tutorial
-Starflash Haul Video (releases this Thursday in MAC stores, woo hoo!)
-Starflash Tutorial
-Cousins Photoshoot Entry

Till next time, ciao bellas!

Hi Bellas,

I was doing my daily blog read through…and I came across Mrs. Lynne’s page. She always has the best posts! I saw her latest post on her top Beauty Secrets revealed…I thought it would be fun to play. See mine below:

My Foundation: MAC Mineralized Satinfinish Foundation in NC42 or MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in Medium Dark (used alone for lighter coverage or to set the mineralized satinfinish foundation)

My Mascara: right now I’m using Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara…it’s alright…I think I like Diorshow better though.

My Blush: MAC Beauty Powder Blush in True Romantic-same as Mrs. Lynne! This is the perfect everyday cheek color.

My Eyeshadow(s):
I loveeeee my bright MAC eyeshadows…some of my favorites are blue calm, stars and rockets, freshwater, passionate…but it’s also great to have some basics…Carbon! It turns any eyeshadow dramatic and smokey in an instant…llama-great for adding to a brush and blending out harsh lines…shroom and naked lunch—awesome highlight colors! I also loveeeee my Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow palette…can’t go wrong with these silky smooth bright colors.

My Day Cream(s): Cetaphil Moisturizer—the thick kind in the tub…I use this day and night…I just use a little less during the day…I also use Lush’s dream cream when my neck gets all itchy…it’s sooooo soothing.

My Lipstick(s): I mainly stick to my MAC! Bare slimshine, Viva Glam V, 4N, Lollipop Loving…these are my everyday…I also love my bright ones…Port Red, Fun N Sexy, Hollywood Nights

My Beauty Product Brand(s): MAC, Urban Decay, Smashbox, Graftobian, Cinema Secrets, Camera Ready Cosmetics

My Essential Beauty Product: Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner in blackest black…it’s been holding me down since High School…love it! Brushes! They really make or break your makeup application…Primers…ever since I discovered these (paint pots, paints, shadesticks) my makeup, especially eyeshadow, has never been more vibrant!

My Favorite Makeup Product(s): Eyeshadow definitely

My Perfume: Oh my gosh I can’t even remember…it’s the one where it’s the shape of the woman’s body without a head…but that’s only for going out…I actually don’t really wear perfume all that much…or I’ll switch it up and wear my sugar one from Aquolina…for daytime use I’ll use my Victoria Secret one that smells like cotton candy

My Nails: ehhhh N/A lol. I just cut and file…I don’t have the patience to keep them painted because hands chip so easily…and I definitely wouldn’t get acrylics…they’re just not me. I usually only get them painted for special occasions….my mom gave me good genes so my nails are thick and usually grow long without breaking…too bad I don’t capitalize on it!

My Feet: Sighhh…I really need a pedicure…I used to do this religiously…now I just try to keep them moisturized and I’ve been using hot pink and fuscia nail polish I got from Sallys.

My Hands: anything I can get my hands on…tee hee….no pun intended…I just like any lotion that’s not too greasy or smelly…I alwayssss have hand sanitizer in my purse…sometimes your hands just feel dirty!

Three Products to bring on a deserted island: moisturizer w/spf, water, and aquaphor…I gotta keep my skin intact…honestly if i’m on a dessert island I don’t need makeup, lol.

Woman I admire for their beauty: I most admire women whose beauty shines from the inside…because if you’re a nasty person…I don’t care if you’re genetically blessed with supermodel looks…your inner ugliness overshadows…

Woman with the Best Sense of Style: Hmmmm…that’s a tough one…I admire a lot of women for their style…I like both glamour and funky styles…I notice my style is venturing into more funky to go with the whole new makeup artist vibe…if I could get hot pink streaks in my hair I would!

My Ultimate Dream: To be happy…live happily ever after with my man…kids…house…my family and friends near…and quit corporate slavery and own my own makeup empire!

How Do I Define Womanhood: Limitless…we can do anything we want…we have the tact, intelligence, beauty and grace to pull it off…

My Favorite Fashion Publication(s): Cosmo, Glamour, Essence, Beauty Mags…recently have subscribed to Audrey…an Asian American woman’s magazine…makes me feel happy to stay connected to the Asian Community.

Now it's your turn!

So I was tagged by Mandi to mention my top 5 beauty crimes. Of course, this should act as a reminder to myself to work on these…especially since some of them were on my new year’s resolution list.

1)Don’t sleep with makeup on…I need to stop being lazy too when I wipe off my makeup with a mac wipe and call it a day. I really should follow up with proper cleansing with my cleansing brush and soap…then moisturizer and eye cream. What's even worse is sometimes I'll do a half-a&$ job at taking off my mascara with the wipe and i'll try to "be good" by putting on my ardell lash and brow accelerator. But we all know that putting this accelerator over a lash with mascara still on it is pretty much defeating the purpose.

2)I need to slow down on my makeup purchases…especially for my “makeup kit” when I haven’t had my first real client yet! Right now i've been filling up my online shopping carts for an extra set of brushes so I can have my own...i've been majorly lemming the pink coastal scents brushes!

3)I have the kind of contacts where you can sleep in them and last a month…but you’re supposed to take them out once a week to clean them and sometimes I forget…or usually just clean them when I feel like they’re irritating me…this is really bad…I know I know...at night my boyfriend goes to take off his contacts and put them in the little solution and i just look at him with a guilty face...

4)I need to keep up with my manis and pedis...before last year I was really good about pedicures and I grimaced at girls who would let their toe nail polish crack and be all chippy-do…but then I went on this whole strict budget thing and I considered it a luxury. The last time I’ve had a pedicure was two days before new years…a special occasion. I still have on the same polish, except there’s only the top half remaining since the rest chipped off…ewwww….

5) I need to get in the habit of proper sanitation with my makeup…a lot of my personal products are going to be going in my makeup kit…for example, all my MAC eyeshadow palettes…I have to make a concentrated effort to get into the groove of using spatulas, wiping off eyeshadows, spraying things down on alcohol when I do my friend’s makeup. That way I’m more prepared for when I do actual paying clients…

So these are my crimes…I’m working on them! Sorry if everyone and there mama has been taggeda already-but in case you haven't here's who I’m tagging:
1)Sheila – Starlet Kisses
2)Joyce
3)Miss Jacklyn Rose
4)Gee
5)Lurve

Hmmm I really had to think hard about this one. The reason I say this is because a lot of my beauty shopping lately comes only after I’ve read reviews from my fellow bloggers. I don’t try as many random products as I used to. But after a few minutes…I do have a couple that I was able to pull out. hopefully you’ll learn from my mistakes, feel free to share yours as well!

1) Victoria’s Secret Eyeshadows. They look so pretty in their nice pink packaging but don’t be deceived, they are so sheer and have no color payoff. I’m referring to the regular powder shadows, not the creams, because those are supposed to be a little better.
2) Covergirl black liquid liner. I’m not sure what the exact kind was, but it was in black packaging. However, when I tried it on, the color looks green! Kind of like when you wear something that is black and faded and it has that green tinge? Not to mention that the liner was extremely watery and faded after about 1 hour!
3) ELF lipsticks in the pan…I tried even the darkest brown color and it was so sheer that my boyfriend couldn’t even tell that I was wearing lipstick. Ohhhh and the pencil eyeliners…after less than the hour it had already smudged and disappeared into my skin…what a waste of product…
4) Jojoba hair oil from Sallys Beauty Supply…again…sorry but I can’t remember the name…but I put this in my hair so it could be soft and silky…instead…I ended up with a rat’s nest! I couldn’t even run my hand through an inch of it…I had to brush it out and lost a lot of hair in the process.
5) Imitation bio-silk products: so Bio-Silk is the bomb, we all know that right? One lil dime size drop and your hair is transformed. It’s also really expensive…like $11 for the smallest bottle. Sometimes I just can’t find it…whether I’m at wal-mart or target…so like many, I’ve seen the $3 version and decided, what the hey! Big mistake…the oil is more like liquid glue…it’s so sticky and does not smooth down the frizzies and adds no shine. It’s more like clear craft glue in your hair…stay away!
6) The old Bare Essentials starter kit…this was back when they were the only mineral makeup company in our faces. I got the product, and I think it was really overrated and overpriced. Not to mention that the old brushes, especially the kabuki and powder brush from the starter kit are so rough on the face! I could find better quality brushes for a third of the price!

Hello Beautiful Bloggers,

So I’ve made a few videos that I haven’t had time to post on the blog. One was on starsmakeuphaven.com, a fabulous website! And another is part 1 of viewer questions. Sometimes I’m a lazy bum and it’s hard for me to respond timely to some of the questions I get via my yahoo mail and youtube inbox, sorry guys! But believe me, I am not complaining one bit…I’m glad to get so much positive feedback, it blows my mind sometimes.

I think being on vacation threw me off my regular groove because as I was editing my answering questions video I got all lazy with it and just cut it into two parts instead of doing one video, which I usually prefer to do. I also don’t want to cut short some of my answers because I want to make sure I come across clear you know?

So I’m going to post questions part II tonight. After that, expect a Hepcat Look video as well as a review on Shiseido Mascara Base. Those videos have been done, just waiting to upload them.

Upcoming videos I’ll be working on:
1) skin routine
2) MAC brushes video
3) How to blend eyeshadow tutorial
4) Curly Hair tutorial
5) Another urban decay eyeshadow look

Any requests, send them my way  I love you guys!

Hey guys! Did you miss me? For those of you who didn't know, I was out of town for about a week visiting some family in Cali. Sorry I wasn't really able to check any posts because I was only able to use the internet for about 5 minutes the whole trip...just wanted to let you know i'm back and ready to partayyyyyyy, lol, j/k that was super corny. Honestly, I'm still feeling the jet lag. I got home yesterday about 10pm atlanta time and had to go to work this morning. I wish I had taken an additional day off to recover because I am sooooo delirious right now. Tonight I need to go home and just sleep and recover...but after that i'll be back with more posts :)

So I was reading Nessa’s blog like I do every day, and saw how she gave a special shout out to some special readers out there who take time to comment on a regular basis.

I decided to do the same...except I am personally listing every blog I have listed in my links to the side b/c honestly, I try to read each of their blogs every single day. They all give me a wealth of knowledge, make me laugh, smile and contemplate...and definitely make my work day pass a heck of a lot faster! If I didn’t feel this way, I wouldn’t have linked them. They are all sweethearts..we’re all at different stages of our makeup learning...but I like it that way. That gives everyone and opportunity to both teach and learn from one another. I love you guys! I feel like I found a second family in the blogging community-one that truly understands a passion of mine, and sometimes even more so than people I know in my “real” life.

So with that said-here’s a shout out to my top ladies (we need to get some more dudes doing the beauty blogging yall!)

Hi Bellas,

Sorry for my delayed posting. I had a crazy weekend and took a sick day on Monday to recover. As I mentioned before I had my friend from home coming in for the weekend to celebrate her birthday. She also brought a friend to stay with her of whom we had not met before. All I have to say is “Drama Central”! My friends and I (meaning my friends here in Atlanta) hardly have any drama, and we all maintain a nice equilibrium. When my friend Cindy came into town, she brought her drama with her! Mainly it was her friend Tasha who caused the tension. Basically, she was just an inconsiderate house guest. My roommate Alex graciously gave up her bed so that my friend Cindy could sleep in there with Tasha. I won’t go into too much detail, but let’s say that by the 3rd night, my roommate Alex told Cindy “So where’s Tasha sleeping tonight?” . Cindy replied, “With me” and Alex responded “Oh no, she’s not sleeping in MY bed. If she apologizes and it’s okay with Ren, she can sleep on the couch”. Ouchers! So instead, Tasha didn’t even sleep at our apartment, she slept at her cousin’s place. Crazy huh? I’m wondering why she didn’t stay there in the first place…

Anyhow, this weekend I was able to do Cindy’s makeup. I gave her a soft silver and blue look which looked really pretty on her. Unfortunately she wears these blue colored contacts which really irritate her eyes so every time I tried doing her eye makeup her eyes would tear up! Luckily I had visine on hand…just another situation you need to anticipate when doing one’s makeup. I’ll post pictures later.

Since I was layed out at home yesterday I was able to edit my Valentine’s Day look…it came out pretty well. It’s not really a really artsy bright red or pink V-Day look…instead I tried to pick something soft and pretty that someone could really wear on a Valentine’s Day date…a look that wouldn’t freak a guy out, because you know they sometimes get intimidated when us girls where our bright looks. I might do another more funky/extreme V-day look if I have time. I added my fav song of the moment “with you” by Chris Brown to the video. I hope you guys enjoy!

Hi Bellas,

One more day to Friday woo hoo! Yesterday I didn’t play with my makeup because my eyes were killing me! Talk about water central...I had to take out my contacts and wear my glasses...making it a whole lot difficult to apply. Plus, that whole area was uber sensitive. Instead I gave it a break and tonight I’ll be ready to create my Valentine’s Day look. I’m pretty much going to re-do my makeup from the Drugstore Haul Video but add more pink. On a random tangent, have you guys heard the new Chris Brown song “with you” lately? It’s in Anne’s neutral every day look video. It’s been in my head since I watched it yesterday and then I heard it this morning on my drive to work. I love that song! It reminds me of my days in high school where I was obsessed with boys, falling in love, and bubblegum pop culture. I think I’m going to use it in my Valentine’s Day video because it’s just too sweet. Thanks for the inspiration Anne :

Ain't he cute...if I was 5 years younger ;) oh and didn't have a man I was in love with...hehe...

I need to pick a restaurant for date night tonight..I was watching the food channel and in one trip they went to Ghana and the food looked sooo good. I’ve tried researching but there aren’t too many African eating spots around here. I looked up some restaurant reviews and I think I’m going to take us to a Chinese spot called Da San Yuan. I love spots like this where it’s not overly commercialized, and the food really does serve to the ethnic roots. Don’t get me wrong...I love me some Panda Express after a long shopping spree at the mall, but on date night my BF and I like to expand our taste palettes.

So on another note, I found out that there’s a Wal-Greens near me. My BF informed me after he read a blog entry in which I was complaining there were none nearby. I almost wish I didn’t know this information because now I have the urge to go and find that Milani blush! LOL. Oh well, I’m really trying to hold out for the next MAC collection. I’m keeping a tight watch on how much money I actually spend this month on makeup so hopefully I can keep to it.

In the meanwhile, back to work...stay beautiful, inside and out :)

Hello Bellas,

How was your night? I went to sleep late again…I think my boyfriend is a bad influence on me because he stays up sooo late. He just tells me that I should go to sleep because I can't hang with the big dawgs or something or other, lol. I’m supposed to be at work by 8:45 (which is more like 9:05-9:15) but go to sleep at 1:30am and always feel it the next day...that’s not good :(

Anywho, after reading Vanessa, Mrs. Lynne and everybody’s pages about all their drug store hauls I was really wishing there was a Walgreens or Duane Reade near me so I could finally get my hands on the HIP paints. Alas, my local CVS does not carry them. Also, the Milani blush that’s a dupe for NARS is definitely on my list.

I think I might go to Wal-mart during lunch today and pick up more work snacks and check out the cosmetics aisle ;)

Last night I did a really quick makeup look to one of my sorority events. I wore one of my neglected Mattene lipsticks in “All Grown Up”. I try to revisit some of my older products to make sure I at least use all of them a few times. I mean if we shell out so much cash on these items we've got to get our money's worth, right girls?

Just like friendship, you may meet new friends, but you can’t forget the faithful ones that have stuck by you through the years...well the same goes with makeup (good methaphor eh?). This lipstick is described as a deep chocolate brown and honestly, I’m not sure I can pull it off. I got it mainly because it was different and I didn’t have too many dark colors at the time. It shows up so dark that I need to use something underneath because it settles into the lines of my lip, giving me unsightly dark lines on my smackers-you know, the Angelina Jolie affliction?
Here's a pic from the MAC website:

I paired it with nothing else except my eyes lined top and bottom with Graphblack Technakohl liner. It was definitely a darker, more mature look...not really my typical bright eyes but I was happy that I expanded my makeup boundaries, lol. Sometimes you need to try different things! Sorry but I didn’t take a pic but you get a visual image right?

So this Thursday I’m planning on recreating the smokey pink eye and curly hair for a Valentines Day look. I’m doing it Thursday evening because that’s date night for my BF. I might of mentioned htis before, but we switch off each week picking a new restaurant neither of us has been to. It’s my week...usually we pick some form of ethnic food-any suggestions?

Like I mentioned before, I’m putting out less videos so I can have a few nights off each week. Last night I finished edited my Shiseido Mascara Base Review. I also got the go ahead/music approval from the BF on the “Hot Hepcat” look (he's the one who usually gives me my background music inspiration) as well as what I call my “Blue Bling Bling” look. Unfortunately Windows Media Maker is tempermental and lost all of my edited music clips I inserted in my Blue Bling Bling video. I was so mad that I took it out on the boyfriend :( If you’re reading this babe, I’m sorry! I went to bed all frustrated but I think in my random tossing and turning I looked over my shoulder and could’ve sworn I saw him redoing the music on my video for me. Gotta love him!

Anyhow, with those vids I should have enough material for you tube posting for the next week or two.

Meanwhile, here’s my “To do list” of viewer requests, tutorials, videos and looks:
• Warmed MSF as eyeshadow
• Burnt orange look
• Collection video
• Valentines Day look
• Curly hair tutorial
• Still have to do my funky eyelashes and drag queen look but those take a little more practice...

Don't forget to watch American Idol tonight! Well back to work so I can make money to pay off my makeup, he he. Ciao bellas!

Hi Guys,

I've seen a few videos like this on you tube so I decided to join in the fun! This is really what's in my purse...I didn't cute it up with things that aren't really in there...you can tell a lot about a person by what they carry around with them ;)

Hope you enjoy! Can't wait to see what's in YOUR purse, he he.

Hi Bellas,

Are you as excited me New Years as I am? Woo hoo! Unfortunately I had to work today...my office has some strick January 1st deadlines and I couldn't get off :( I'm so jealous because all of my other friends too off. Anywho...it's going to be a great night. At least we get to work half a day and tomorrow we get off. Right after work I'm getting my hair done...i'm going for a big hair spiraly look...something playful and out there...for some reason I love big hair!

Yesterday I got my nails done...they're a deep wine red and I have a pretty flower design on my toes.

Then i'm going with the girls to MAC to get our makeup done...my appointment is in 4 hours and I still don't know what I want to get! I'm wearing a gold dress, any suggestions?

Then after that...we're checking into our hotel. It's a VIP package where you get a hotel room, dinner buffet and breakfast...open bar from 9pm - 1am and 4 parties to choose from in the hotel's ballrooms...I can picture us acting crazy running up and down the hallways, it's going to be a big group, i'm so excited :)

So here are pics of my dress and shoes and what I want to do with my hair :)

The shoes were only $30! I got them from arden b, they were originally $100 but on sale for half off...and then I had $20 on my rewards card so I got a deal! The dress is from BeBe, that wasn't cheap, lol. But I wanted a gold dress and they had one!

An idea of what I want my hair to be like...but my hair is longer...but I want big like this!

So i've been tagged by Vanessa and Stephie...lol...so here goes! I've pasted the info.

The Rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to then report this on their own blog with their 7 things as well as these rules. They then need to tag 7 others and list their names on their blog. They are also asked to leave a comment for each of the tagged, to let them know that they have been tagged and to read the blog.

So here goes:

1. In college I was president of the Filipino Student Association but also President of my sorority, and I was on the step team, an indian dance group and a reggae dance group. my sorority is actually a latina sorority, ppl get confused by that all the time...but those are often ppl who don't know about the spanish influence on the filipino culture :) plus, hasn't anyone heard of racial diversity!

2. I am allergic to animal dander...meaning for the most part, if it's got fur, i'm allergic....but i've had pet guinea pigs and rabbits growing up...i guess my parents thought less fur, less allergies!

3. I don't know how to speak a lick of Tagalog, I can't even really understand it except a few words...and my parents speak it all the time in front of me and my bro...i dunno what happened!

4. I'm best friends with my roomies...one I've known since 7 years old and we grew up BFF's in florida and even were roommates in the same college...my other is my sorority sister who lived with us in college. one is haitian and the other is colombian...my other bff is trinidadian, my BF is black/puerto-rican...everytime we go anywhere ppl think we're a posterChr for diversity :)

5. My fingers are double jointed...it freaks by BF out sometimes, lol.

6. My biggest turnoff is when I see ppl spit...it can be strangers, ppl I know, it's just gross!

7. My favorite disney movie is the Little Mermaid...I know all the songs by heart, even like 15 years later!

Here's the 7 I tagged: Stephie, Vanessa, Fei, Chic Makeup, Alienman, Christiana, and Divine Blackness
