Flirt with a Classic Red Lip

Nothing says Valentine's Day quite like a bold, red lip. It's classic, empowering, and undeniably romantic. For a long-lasting effect, begin by exfoliating your lips and follow up with a hydrating lip balm. Outline your lips with a lip liner that matches your chosen shade of red, then fill in with your lipstick. Opt for a matte finish if you're aiming for endurance through dinner and drinks, or go for a gloss if you're keeping it casual and want that extra pop of shine.

My current favorite red lipstick is the Maybelline Vinyl Ink in Wicked - It's a longwear glossy stain and the red is so rich and vibrant.

Romantic Eyes

Let your eyes do the talking with a soft, romantic look. I love playing with rose and pink tones for Valentines Day.  You can even place one of your favorite blush colors in  your crease just make sure it's a matte finish.  I like to finish it off with a bit of shimmer in the center of the lid to bring light to the lid.

I love this Mauves eyeshadow palette from Juvia's place.  It's super affordable and works on all skin tones.  And a bonus, the pans are big enough so you can use the shadows for blush or cheek highlight.

Radiate Love with a Healthy Glow

What doesn't say love more than a glow—and makeup helps! I love pairing my foundation with a liquid illuminizer - you can wear it under foundation for a super natural glow, or on top of foundation - on your cheekbones for even more shine.  Next apply a cream blush in a pinky tone to give that flushed in love look.  Some of my favorite liquid illuminizers are the L'Oreal Lumi Glotion - they're big enough where you can apply them on the face and body.

Set the Scene with a Scented Setting Spray

Finish off your look and ensure it lasts from dusk till dawn with a setting spray. Dry skin types should choose a hydrating mist and oily skin should go for something more mattifying.  I love the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Setting Spray because it's perfect for the February cold weather and smells like yummy coconuts.

Don't Forget the Finishing Touches

Valentine's Day is the perfect excuse to sprinkle in some extra-special details. This is the time to pull out the fun stuff like face gems and false lashes.  To make your life easier, get the stick on rhinestones, they're so much quicker to apply!

Remember, the most important thing is to wear your look with confidence.
